20551 out and about in Sunderland today
01 Jun 2015, 9:27 am
The services which I think should be Stagecoach Gold should be 1, 10/11 (Newcastle), 12, X20, X34, 63/X63, 38, 39/40 I was gonna say 100 but it's pointless as it only goes to 2 stops

With St Mary's road in Sunderland opening again, will the 8 and 20 start going back along that road?

Hello,
Thank you for your email.
Our Commercial department have been advised by Nexus that these works are still under way and the west bound stop which we would use will be unavailable for some weeks.
We do intend buses to run this way once again however it could be approximately 2 months until this is feasible.

I wouldn't bother - all Stagecoach vehicles that I've been on have been vandalised in some way. I don't see Stagecoach investing into Gold vehicles on any routes up here other than the X34. The X34 seems to have e-leather seating anyway.

E1,E2,E6 would be good to, same as the 1/39/40.

I wonder whether services E1/E2/E6 will observe the M&S bus stop again, as it is much quicker to get to The Bridges from that bus stop. I think the road to the Sunderland Empire has been pedestrianised, but I think it would be a good idea to reroute the "E" services to serve St. Michaels Way towards PLI.

All the road system has changed, you can only acess the Empire road by using the road next to Revelution and that road only goes to the bridges car park now.
I think all the services which served St Marys will return to normal once the bus stops open again, these include the 56 etc.

Reliability of evening E services is bad this way on an evening!

Still bad at this hour?
I know it's awful 3pm - 5pm, but don't often have to use the E2 (always have the option of several other buses) after 6pm.

Yeah waiting for the e1 at roker a few times at this time and around 5 mins later. Not earth shattering but never the less!

22673? is out on route training in Sunderland
04 Jun 2015, 11:59 pm
The release of the latest fleet card means I can now formally confirm, that Dart SLF 33101 has been purchased by the North East Bus Preservation Trust.
The only other move of note is that of 22667, moving from Hartlepool Reserve to Slatyford reserve replacing 22480.

That's the problem with running a service on a 10 minute frequency especially in rush hour traffic, nobody would blink their eye if the service was the old service 2 and a service 3 together, same as the 16 running in pairs but no one would notice if the service was the old 15 and 16, sometimes im on chester road waiting for service 16 to Grindon just after 9am and waiting for the bus for 25 minutes, even I know that the service would be delayed in traffic between Red House and the town and wearmouth bridge, but a lot of passengers don't see it like that and expect the service to run on a 10 minute freq in rush hour traffic, this is what happens on cross city services.

There's some rumours flying about that x34 in South Shields could be first in North East to move to gold standard with second hand e400s from Oxfordshire. Is there any substance to this?
Kind regards

Next time we should be getting second hand Enviro 400s at stagecoach on Teesside inside of Dennis trident want we got in the first place it should have been Enviro 400 that we gotin first place that I think not Dennis trident.
05 Jun 2015, 8:42 pm
I think there's potential for it being a gold service though my suggestion is get scania E400s in gold spec, Make it run later than the last departure from pilgrim street which I think is around 9pm, maybe last service 11:30 pm to Horsley hill ...... maybe run it into Eldon square instead of pilgrim street but yeah, it would be good if it happened
05 Jun 2015, 10:09 pm
Believe it's 6 in total, so maybe a pvr increase with an increased service. All speculation at the moment of course but we will have to wait and see
Kind regards
Kind regards

As much as I would love to see this happen I don't know if the demand is there as it stands, however it's not been done before so it's hard to say...what would the passenger numbers need to be like to make a profit?
05 Jun 2015, 11:42 pm
I cant seen stagecoach on teesside getting enviro 400 but it like there will get more Dennis tridant I think.

Oh dear!

After this photo was taken it was taken out of service although with a dent that looks as bad as this, I think it should have been taken out of service before this.

Im not so sure but im sure the x34 makes a profit, more than half of the bus coming or going from Newcastle pays something then the rest is pensioners
the late evening journeys would make a profit because people are coming from nights out, work and late night shopping, so each service should make a bit of a profit.
