What doesn't appear clear on the map is the route the Quaylink will take in and around Gateshead Town Centre. It said on GNE's website that the route in Gateshead will be revised, but what exactly is the new route going to be?

If I remember, it is going from Gateshead Interchange and the next stop is The Sage, so the Q1 will probably be going out of the back door at Gateshead Metro onto Prince Consort Road (like the 93) and the Q2 vice versa into Gateshead Metro from The Sage via Tesco's. It does not operate along Gateshead High Street where Barclays is.

If that's the case then it's a bit silly because the Q1 can currently utilise the bus lane just before Bottle Bank if it comes down High Street, but if it goes down Prince Consort Road it would be more vulnerable to getting stuck in traffic on the A184 with cars turning on to the Tyne Bridge.

Totally agree that it will be more vulnerable to getting stuck in traffic (I've had to endure a 93 taking 15 minutes to get to the A184/Tyne Bridge junction on many occasions), but I'd imagine that it'd be too confusing to customers to have both the Q1 (Newcastle-bound) and Q1 (Heworth/Wrekenton-bound) serving Jackson Street and Gateshead High Street.

It could also do what the X66 does, down the bus lane from the Metro, turn right then left into Hill Street and left and still go down Bottle Bank.

Looking at the time you posted that across, it had only been on Go North East's website for two minutes..!

I think it lost a few seats when the flywheel was fitted, but not sure about that...

There might be a few modifications to the rear of it ( Higher step towards the rear seats, More Vents on the rear outside )
The loans at Hexham depot seem to have reduced to one (Stanley Travels 9112). I therefore assume all other loans have returned to their homes? ie. Oxford Bus Co. and Dawson Rentals.

Correct - been like that since last week, following the arrival of further Driver Training coaches.

Does that mean 4918 has transferred back to Riverside? or are you just talking about the coaches

I think he means the coaches, however, I think 4918 was on the Orbits today.
I think it looks a bit of a mess myself but each to their own. Liking the fade between colours though, looked a bit blunt before!

Which is exactly what I think of Frequenta.

It probably would have looked better if the titles were in other colours than white...
I guess its Metro Radio's design though so that'd be up to them?

I really can't see what relevance this has to Go North East branding a bus in 'Metro Radio' livery!
(06 Jul 2015, 6:22 pm)S813 FVK wrote [ -> ]As usual, Bazza took something bus related and went completely off topic!
The way I took it is that when he first saw the livery without the vinyls, he nearly felt physically sick because he thought it looked horrible. I could be completely wrong.
Of course, Bazza has his own ways of doing comparisons and I do find them a bit confusing yet also unique at the same time!
