You may get your wish may come true if my predication is correct, as I think the Prince Bishops Solars will replace the remaining Cadets and the Merits in the fleet.
In all honestly if the 33/33A were pointless and no one used them, GNE would of changed them after the normal 6 month review... same as the 39 changes..

Its coming up to a year since the 33/33A was introduced and the 39 changes and nothing has changed so they must be doing well.

Every service has a time of the day when few passengers are on the route and will have times when they carry fresh air.

That goes for all bus routes, not just for GNE services.

I agree, I still haven't rode 4935 since it transferred.
5302 looks to have had a coming together of some sort recently.

The majority of the o/s vinyls are missing. Couldn't see what colour/shade the panels were due to the poor light outside.

Thanks - it's only the "do it" and "land" missing (ie the panel just behind the front offside wheel).

I reported the missing branding to the third party company who applies branding to Go North East's buses almost a month ago now, so they must still be waiting for someone to print and fit the replacement vinyls. I believe the panels which have been replaced are the same shade of gold as the rest of the bus.
anyone know what is happening with NA52 BVH/G are they training buses or are they being sold

8250 and 8251 have been withdrawn, they aren't used as driver training vehicles, unlike 8242-8248. They'll be sold when a buyer is found, or alternatively sent for scrap.

8249 possibly? Believe that and one other Cadet caught fire while they were based at Washington, I think both were sold for scrap, most likely to Alpha.
Fleet News: 04/01/2016

There have been no changes to the fleet this week.

I believe they are/were being used for engineering training purposes.
A Gold Merc on the 36, arriving in to Houghton about 10mins back may need looking at.
Sounds like a belt has slipped or needs tightening. Sounding very rough indeed.

Only one was scrapped as 8250 is still here.
Withdrawn former ''Toon Link'' Volvo B10BLE 5144 left Saltmeadows Road for scrapping in Barnsley today.
Certainly not a slow news day today...

As noted on our news page on the links below, "Tynedale Links" branded Transbus MPD 556 and "Loop" branded Scania L94 5219 have arrived at Saltmeadows Road for repaint.

On the topic, 3886s rear destination still isnt working properly. Appreciate the fact it isnt a priority with it not having to meed DDA standards just but thought id say anyway.

Not a huge issue either, as it's just programmed as a route number only display instead of the size used on the back of an OmniCity. Would meet DDA/PSVAR requirements regardless, as the rear only needs to be a route number only display.

4992 (iirc) side blind didn't show the service number, it just has South Shields scrolling across.

6003 was out today, following it's repaint. Not sure if today was it's first day back on the road, but I can't see any other photos if it yet.

It has the route number and destination on both rows but both bunched up to the right so it is bearly readable.

Returned to service following repaint on Saturday - so you were still pretty quick off the mark getting a photo. [emoji14]

Nothing wrong with a refresh, keeping the fleet smart and tidy, is there?

If you ask me; it's about time we saw quality being treated as a primary focus, amongst bus operators in the North East.
