Why?

Last day of the 746/747 today.

Going to hazard a guess that it will be down to Newcastle Pride as I think there is going to be a parade through the city centre again, last year when it was on no buses were able to get into Eldon Square and Haymarket with major delays to services as a result, so I'm assuming to keep the service to time Arriva have opted to terminate the X12 at Gateshead during the Parade.

What Jimmi said. Poster in ES advises using the metro. No idea if they are accepting tickets though.

21 is going old school and terminating on Pilgrim St
1432 is the latest Frequenta repaint.
Trouble on the X93 this evening? Just seen two B9s arrive in to Scarborough with a couple of minutes between them.

The second one needs some TLC to its roof - almost like it had been scraped all the away along.

As reported in the rare and odd workings thread, 1408 was working the X14 today.

All in all I couldn't tell if the vehicle was coping well or not, As the driver was one of them Eco Mad, Slow , Never makes up time drivers, So didn't push the bus at all.

Though around Cragside/Rothbury, Where the bus has to climb 25% Inclines, It coped well and Econospeed didn't mess the Gear changes up during the climb up either.
Though on the straight sections the driver didn't push the bus, Getting up to about 40mph at the most.

One suggestion is that if these vehicles were to operate the route, The Econospeed setup needs to modified in 3rd and 4th Gears, Fast Hills climbs needs a downchange around 30mph to maintain climb.
All in all it coped well, Even if the driver didn't push the bus at all during the journey.
Allocation Amendments: 17/07/2016

A number of these allocation amendments actually happened in reality a few weeks ago - they have been (or will be) noted on the news page at the time they actually occurred.

Ashington
In - 7486 (ex-Redcar)
Out - 7475 to Jesmond and 1764 to reserve fleet (Roadworks Complete)

Jesmond
In - 7475 (ex-Ashington)
Out - 4522 for disposal

Darlington
In - 1906 (ex-Stockton*)
Out - 4802 for repair/impounded by police.

* In reality, this bus was in use at Redcar, covering for VDL Pulsars away for Frequenta repaint.

Redcar
In - 7424 (ex-London)
Out - 7486 to Ashington and 1102 for disposal

Stockton
Out - 1906 to Darlington
My prediction of what will happen from the nexus work.
1762 gets withdrawn. From the 168 takeover
2601 gains wifi for service 6.
2602,03 transfer to redcar and whitby allowing 1103,5 to be withdrawn.
2801,02 replace 1774,75.
1774 goes to whitby allowing 1759 to be withdrawn and sainsburys can promote wifi on the shuttle bus.
1775 transfers to darlington allowing 1906 to return to stockton.
2816,21,24,70,71 transfer to blyth allowing 1760,63,65,67,69 to be withdrawn.
1768 wont be withdrawn as it can replace 1761 at belmont.
New buses will allow the rest of the darts to be withdrawn
1906 to Darlington? Again?
why is 4522 awaiting disposal?

2601/2 are for disposal. 1103/5, 1759 not going anywhere.

A 61 reg bus cant be scrapped

It can - its just extremely unlikely.

Also, the word 'disposal' does not mean scrapped either. It simply means to get rid of something - including passing the thing onto something else.

Could 2601/2602 possibly be from Arriva Bus & Coach or something like that? Think it was the same story with the Solo's previously used on the Durham Park and Ride but they were kept in the North East fleet in the end.

I have no idea about that, i'm afraid. With them being only 8.1m long, i don't know if Arriva would have anywhere for them that would be considered to be suitable.

Yorkshire Tiger - they have a few short ones at Honley and Elland depots.
Think 7421 was on X12 in Stockton at 21 28 pm
What Nexus route(s) are 2601/2602/2603 typically allocated to?
(20 Jul 2016, 8:38 pm)Jimmi wrote [ -> ]What Nexus route(s) are 2601/2602/2603 typically allocated to?

Usually one on the 6. M71 I think generally gets one as well.

One of them have been on the 6 every time I've seen it and they are often on the 84/84A too.

M71 is definitely your best bet
Thanks guys! Smile

Require some photos of them, especially 2602 which I don't seem to have (on Flickr at least).

Now been noted elsewhere that 2602/3 are for disposal and 2601 is staying.
i reckon the solos that going to leave jesmond will be 2801 2802 2806 2815 2816 2821 2824 2831 2834 2840 2847 they all nexus and 2831 34 40 47 all in arriva i reckon they go to blyth which leaves 13 at jesmond
2801/2/6/15/31 are down to be the Solos transferring to Blyth (along with 7487 moving from Durham) replacing 1763/5/8/70/2 with 7458 also being withdrawn.

Jesmond retain two Solos from the Nexus fleet to replace 1774/5 on the 55.

7418/21 should be entering service at Durham as well, which allows 7487 to move to Blyth and 7477 to be withdrawn.
