Also 699 looks to be in process of being painted into little coasters
Looking at the current RK & ex PB StreetLites, could they not be destined for the 12/12A and 58 with the 6 getting 5x Mercs from there?

PVR of 6 is more than 5...

I think, on its own under current layover conditions, it is actually bang on 5.
Together with the X31, it is currently 8 but with a 6 and X31 being scheduled to leave both Stanley and Newcastle at the same time, it is easier to split them apart.

Ah sorry I thought it was more

Don't forget the 15 and red kite geminis will be cascaded all over. Any guesses of where these could go?
Almost definite that the 327 will be upgraded

I can see the 15 plate Geminis going to EYMS. For the ex London B9TLs, maybe either EYMS or GoNW
I'm not sure why they would be sent away. Would come in handy at the likes of Chester-le-Street where they still have a number of Omnidekkas in regular front line service.

Probables replace the Omnidekka's, so the Omnidekka's can replace the Vykings and Presidents.

Vykings and omnidekks are Euro 4, presidents are euro 5 apart from EYMS. Makes no sense to remove them if they are newer and higher engine spec.

Still a few V reg presidents kicking about. B9s could transfer onto the 6 as it always seems to be rammed

Indeed, lots of elderly and East Yorkshire B7s to get rid of before Go North East are in a position to get rid of buses.
The ex-London B9s are still fairly new to the fleet themselves, and have just been awarded funding from Gateshead Council to have an SCRT fitted to upgrade them to Euro 6. I wouldn't expect these to leave the fleet any time soon...

So could the Ex London B9s end up doing the 6 and also other useful spare roles in the fleet such as providing extra spares for the 21 / X21 owing to the PVR increase of the X21?

I'm surprised they've gone for the ex London B9's, even more so with them being duel door...... would of thought it would of been the Omnilinks... how long do they have to keep them in service, with the SCRT upgrade?

At almost 7 years old, the B9s are going to be around for a lot longer than the Omnidekkas, so seem like the better option of the two to get the upgrade.

I wonder if this hints at the B9's getting a refurbishment soon too, with them only being 7 years old, they could add USB ports, better seats... they would upgrade a few routes, as there's 13 of them - 6149-6161.

What other buses will get this treatment, as they were rewarded for:
Newcastle - £379,600 - 23 buses
Gateshead - £230,750 - 13 buses - would imagine these are: 6149-6161.
South Tyneside - £133,952 - 8 buses - No idea
My guess:
Newcastle - Quaylink Versa's, there's 23 of them - plus, the Versa's will go for a refurbishment in the next 2 years.
Gateshead - 13 buses - 6149-6161.
South Tyneside - £133,952 - 8 buses - No idea

Not necessarily all Go North East buses of course, apart from the Gateshead ones.

Wonder if the 33/33A will go via Doxford Park shops to East Herrington?, Hopefully it also sorts, the horrendous timetable out too, more likely to make money, if it ran every 20 minutes and then hourly to the docks, instead of... 3,13,33 and 43 minutes past the hour..., as the sheet says every 10 minutes but its not really, as the 55, provides the 53 past the hour...

I wonder if it’s extended from silksworth to east Herrington to replace the 36 due to customers complaining that there lost that direct route

A councillor from East Herrington was using it as a photo op the other week after talks with GNE.
"Councillor Dominic McDonough is delighted that following his recent meeting with Go North East and a spirited campaign by local residents. Go North East have announced that they will extend the number 33 bus service to help replace the 36 service that was axed in May.
The service will run from the Board Inn past Oakfield Court, Allendale Road and Lakeside Village to Silksworth. Re-establishing vital links for our community."

The irony being, most of the complaints I seen on the GNE facebook page were about the lost connection to New Herrington and further towards Houghton.

Could they not extend it along Hylton Retail Park too?, because the 8 has been horrendous since the changes, always late.

Ah that's good for some people, but what about the others?, i'm still hearing complaints about the lost connections from New Herrington and Houghton.
Luckily, atm my area is all Stagecoach and we haven't seen many major changes for a while... "Fingers crossed"
Looks like this extension to east Herrington will only run between 09:30 and 14:30 only

Bridget has been having her say about public transport in the constituency too.
Although rail seems to be her focus this time, rather than bus
