They are monster people movers though, They have countless rows of seats in the Enviro bodied ones.
They should consider these extra grills in my opinion, Or the addition of the Avid E-Fan, Or are these things too costly for the budget in place there?
They're much smoother on the road and sit better at speed than the Dennis examples in my opinion, especially at fast speeds like on routes like the 685.
Regardless of mods, many regions just want rid of the things as they're just too unreliable!
24116's mod.

Does anybody know if South Shields will be loosing 3 of there x34 e400s when the service returns to half hourly? I'd personally like to see 3 kept for peak journeys on economic routes with 3 e300s leaving instead.
Kind regards

Yes, 3 of South Shields' E400 will be leaving the depot at the end of the month.

27510 currently at Sunderland for repaint.
I passed this on the A66 near Teesside Park one day last week heading for Middlesbrough still branded for the 100!

Shields need to get double deckers for the E services, too many times the E1 overcrowded already by the time it reaches roker park and town and passengers on this section having to stand or can't get on especially the elderly, wasn't to bad when service 18/19 went along harbour view and roker avenue.

I am told that 22570 has finally entered service.

Don't THINK have missed posts, but then some of us have more to do than sit on here all day.

Well plainly given it was only two pages and a few days ago.
Incidentally, 27510 was the only one visible in the yard at 1310 this afternoon.
South Shields's forum celebrity, Transbus Dart 33401 has transferred to Hartlepool for use as a cover vehicle during a Major Road Closure in the area starting from the 15th January.
It is still yet to be fitted with a ticket machine, Though is expected to be used in service at Hartlepool so will no doubt will be fitted with one I due corse.
, oh dear!!!

When the Sunderland changes take place, we'll lose quite a few buses, likely to be the MAN Enviro's and the dart... can anyone care to work out the average age of what the fleet will be? (As i'm quite rubbish at stuff like that!!)

Lets pray Robin Tait doesn't find out!
Is it known what the closure/extra service is?
Gas works between Cornwall Street and Burn Valley Roundabout expected to last around 11 weeks

Closing Stockton Road then? Wonder if there's a shuttle on to cover the diversion or just an extra on the PVR of the 6/7.
The council website is saying it's going to be done in several phases with the use of multiphase traffic signals and road closures, so I'd imagine it's probably going to be a case of sitting in the queues rather than a diversion, unless they close Stockton Road itself, as they'd have to divert the 1 on top of the 6 and 7

They could divert the 6 and 36 via the route of the 4 and have the 1 and 7 run along the A689 to Brenda Road where the 1 can resume its route and the 7 can run along to Stockton Road Co-op to pick up the route there.
A single bus could run a shuttle from Brenda Road/B&Q along Brenda Rd/Stockton Rd and up Oxford Rd as far as the roundabout to maintain a service to all stops.

They look decent.

What colour is it?
(12 Jan 2017, 10:51 am)Michael wrote [ -> ]What colour is it?
Light blue towards the front and dark blue towards the rear.
Three yellow lines on the windows (similar to the Euro star squiggles) and a vinyl number around the place where the colours change, similar to the X34 uses.
The X in the vinyl number is also used on a vinyl 'Express'
Lots of vinyls.
There must be a couple out as one has just gone towards Sunderland, along Sunderland Road.

Good, wonder how many designs it went through before they got the one they wanted, it looks good by the way u described it.
I'll defiantly be using it when it starts.
Does anyone know if they managed to fix the plugs?
