Just read in Buses magazine that Go North East are going to be used for shake down trials of a London spec Optare MetroCity EV that was on display at Euro Bus Expo before it goes to operate at Go-Ahead London.

So any idea which route it be used on. Maybe try it out on the Sunderland City Connect since I believe that does need bigger buses during term times.

Other route suggestions for it could be Indigo North Tyne 40/41, Black Cat 39, 34 / 34A, 29, 33 / 33A.

Possibly the X66, QuayLinks, CityLink 58.
I'm not sure it be suitable for the X66 or 58 as with it being London spec it is dual door and probably had around 35 seats.

67/69 would make sense imo, can be compared to 9084 too.

Arriva have won the next few Metro Replacements - and given they're struggling for drivers, this probably means they will continue sub-contracting out to independent operators.

For Boxing Day, if Percy Main operate the 309/310 this year or a short 57/310, will Coaster branded Volvo B5LHs be used instead of Cobalt Clipper B9TLs to save fuel?

Thought that would've happened last year unless they weren't ready or all transferred across from CLS.

Depends if the 1 is also running! Boxing day is becoming more and more like the average sunday service.

The 1 has ran during previous years on Boxing Day but only between North Shields Ferry and Whitley Bay Town Centre so of it was most likely to run, it would only need allocated an Omnicity or even a Solo.

Depends if the 1 is going to run full length this year!

Any plans to fix the issue with Newcastle Crusaders and 54s not showing on the app?

It's going to Hardain Park because the 57 isn't operating.

Which Depot will be running the extended 47 to Consett on Boxing day? And what buses will be used?

Hopefully they use 6118 - 6121 as I can see this route being extremely busy, especially as it's the only bus running into Consett.

Longmidekkas are there too. They'll probably be better with the RKs on 6s again.

Why don't they advertise it as the 45E, its the same route.

45E serves Swalwell Monument, but 47 goes via Metropark West
