Last week I flew on G-CELV, the oldest aircraft I have flown on with an age of 29 years, built in 1986, the trip to Malta was a very rattely three and a half hours and the plane was not as well kept as G-GDFG or G-GDFK, the only other two 733sI have flown on with Jet2. I flew the route three years ago with easyjet and I would fully recommend Easyjet overall, my next Jet2 flight is a return trip home to Newcastle on the 11th, after that the 11th August 2017 (ironic) to Heraklion

That flight has to be hell!
Out of interest, do these flights still run on selected dates

I am with you - for low cost I always go easyJet where I can. Partly because I really do prefer Airbus on short haul - although I'd much rather a 777/747 long haul. I've flown IB on their A330s and it just doesn't feel the same as a 77W, 747 or even a 767 for some reason.

I am set for an easyjet flight to Belfast on the 31st and just five days prior a BA A319 to London so I should be able to do a comparison, however I am prettying sure BA will be better

I have to say, I'm loyal to BA. The drinks round is very rapid! I'm flying Cityflyer from LCY to MAD very soon, and then Iberia internally. Can't wait for the BA sector, just dreading what IB have in store...
Very respectable move:

What is Iberia like?

Is that alcohol ban including duty free purchases?

Avios points must be building up nicely!

To be honest, every time I fly long haul to Latin America/USA, I generally have enough for a cheap Euro trip in Club Europe from Newcastle. Haven't done long haul this year so the Avios are a bit low

Iberia have some lovely aircraft (A330s) but their service... Well...
And I presume it won't be as duty free is normally put into a sealed plastic bag and, I could be wrong here, not to be opened until customs has been cleared on the other side.

I assumed that might be the case
I have discovered flying me home from Malta on LS574 tomorrow is G-GDFN, quite happy about it considering 29 year old G-CELV flew me out, it is only 18! Quite young for Jet2.
G-GDFN wasn't very good, it was slow missing a row of seats and had dodgey taps, dare I say the older G-CELV was better
Going away on the 15th September for a week in Murcia, Spain, any idea what plane i'll be on?.

Not sure on a registration but it will be a 737-300, if you get G-GDFN or G-CELV you have what flew me to Malta in July/August

It's too early to tell what Aircraft it will be, in my experience Jet2 constantly swapped planes around due to operational requirements. The same Aircraft barely stay at Newcastle for a week.

Not as often as you would think, G-CELV has been at Newcastle for 2 months
Cheers thanks for the info, hoping for something decent.

Not anything decent with Jet2
It is all pretty dire in my opinion with old 30 year old 737s and prototype 737-800s

True, Jet2 are the only airline who do Newcastle-Murcia so I would rather have Jet2 than not go!

Whats wrong with Jet2?, not everyone can afford to go on expensive holidays?
