Where do they go? Are they GNE? Seasonal routes are quite a good idea actually.

508 used to go from Newcastle to Rothbury and Cragside Hall "the other way" via Ponteland, Belsay Hall and Wallington Hall
714 used to go from Newcastle to Kielder via Ponteland, Belsay and the A68
Both were operated by Arriva with some support from various groups.
From memory they were both one bus/one driver routes.
With GNE "bringing back" the Newcastle to Scarborough summer special last year, i just though I would mention some of the others which used to run, both of which went via Belsay Hall as the X75 did

Not really any need for the 508 anymore since the X14 runs every day now. A shuttle between Rothbury and Cragside would be handy though, edit just remembered it went up by Wallington Hall etc.
The 714 wouldn't be bad again though, it ran from Newcastle to Kielder for whoever asked -

Newcastle to Kielder 714 sounds like a good seasonal GNE service.

It's not really possible to get to Kielder by bus there days, all there is now is the ADAPT 694 service but its only one trip to Hexham then back in the afternoon on Tuesdays & Fridays only. Back in 2015 there was an 880 service from Bellingham to Kielder running two trips a day Mon - Sat but with everything PCL Ttavel got their hands on at the time, it quickly disappeared (connections to/from the GNE 680 at Bellingham).
From research there used to be all sorts of weird links that ran usually once a week in Northumberland from years gone by, was a service between Morpeth to Hexham via Belsay & Maften for example, one member might like the idea of a link from Newcastle Airport to Morpeth [emoji1]

There was a regular link between the Airport and Morpeth on service 100 until 2015.
https://flic.kr/p/GxmaQK
The 100 was amended to run (as 35, Newbiggin-Ashington-)Morpeth-Kirkley-Airport-Cramlington-Blyth in the last year of it running if I remember correctly, it interworked with the 35 using StreetLites and that.
The 100 used to be home to Arriva Dart 1688 after it moved to Ashington after the depot at Hexham was sold to Go North East.
I recall a decent run on it when I went from Newcastle Airport to Bedlington Red Lion in April 2012, back when the 100 still served Ashington.
Here it is arriving at Newcastle Airport.

X75 returning this year, Haymarket to Wallington Hall, no start date yet.

Am I right in thinking this is an extension to the route?
Think it only went to Belsay last year.
aye, Wallington is a National Trust site as opposed to Belsay which is English Heritage. Has GNE secured funding from both or is the jolly to Wallington going to be commercial?

That's correct. Wallington Hall is further away, but I wonder if the service will stop at Ponteland and Belsay the same as last year.
Credit to Michael for the information from VOSA, I thought Go North East had decided against bringing the X75 back for this year.

Probs going to become a PVR of 2 now. Wonder where they will get the spare buses from.
Still no news on X11, not surprised the B1 hasn't returned.
The service will probably still only take one vehicle, just the departures will be more spreaded out to allow for the extended running times.

Assuming it would be Percy Main again, one would guess 5479/80 would be used, or possibly one of 8341-8346.

Don't think there's any shortage of buses. Drivers maybe...

Now confirmed on VOSA as starting 7th May, ending 3rd September

Thanks. Haymarket to Wallington via Ponteland?
I wonder if GNE All Zones tickets will be valid, or if a separate ticket will be required for the X75. Hopefully it will be popular. A shame a StreetLite will be allocated, they are quite horrible buses to ride, with so many rattles and noisy engines.

Yes, Newcastle to Wallington Hall via Ponteland, Belsay Hall and Bolam Lake.
I don't think it's been confirmed that a Streetlite will be allocated.

Bolam Lake Country Park looks nice.
I think it will probably be a Streetlite allocated, what else could it be?
Presumably it will be the same route as last year, from Haymarket to Cowgate and over to Ponteland and Belsay. Actually stopping along the route would be an improvement, perhaps even one stop in Cowgate?
Bolam is a very small country park, good for a couple of hours at the very most. Hopefully the timetable reflects this, 3+ hours between drop off and pick up would become a problem for most visitors.

Hmm, interesting. I thought Bolam looked nice from a quick search. What about Wallington Hall? Are the departures the same frequency apart in both directions?
Bolam is quite nice, it's a ~30 minute stroll around the lake. Could probably extend it to an hour or so if you walk all the paths.
It's kinda just a place you'd visit if you're on a drive towards somewhere else.
Wallington is your standard National Trust property, there's a few gardens, the hall to look around, some lengthy scenic walks too.
X75 Map & Timetable now available on bus org (or bus times whatever people call it)
Will under 25 tickets be accepted on this service?
(29 Apr 2022, 5:11 pm)Unber43 wrote [ -> ]Will under 25 tickets be accepted on this service?
X75 bus fare
X75 bus fares - from GNE website
Day return from Newcastle – £6
Day return from Newcastle for English Heritage or National Trust members – £4.80 (just show your membership card)
Family Day Ticket – £12 (up to two adults and 3 children with minimum of one adult and one child)
Day, weekly and monthly tickets are valid (all zones tickets)
Concession pass holders travel free
Could anyone please advise if Belsay or Wallington is better to visit on the X75?
Both are equally as good, personally I'd flip a coin haha

Seriously? I'm struggling to decide which one to go to.
