You could visit both if you had the time, the timetable allows you to have 2 hours in each location.

Thanks. It's actually the entry costs rather than having enough time for both that is the issue, so I'm looking into which is better to visit.
I don't think the X75 will be as busy, as it is every 2hours and I don't think anyone could spend say 100 mins at each of these.
have you ever been to belsay or wallington? both have estates to walk around as well as the buildings to explore. wouldn't manage to fit everything in within 2 hours.
Does anyone know what the allocation will be for this route?
Thanks In Advance

I believe a StreetLite, but I guess it could be a Versa... Nothing has been officially announced to my knowledge.

the two diesel Yutong aren’t used on a weekend.
I'm guessing the X75 is gonna be run out of Riverside Depot this year. No point in running it out of Percy Main

Given Percy Main are short on work at the minute it would arguably make more sense for it to be ran from there again.

Not if Percy Main don’t have any spare Euro 6 buses on Saturdays, and if Riverside (who do have two spare Euro 6 buses which aren’t used on weekends) have a scholars driver who can run the X75 every Saturday as overtime.

Thank you
The X75 only runs weekends doesn't it?

Only on Saturdays

They should stick a promotional livery for the X75 like on the X11. Or paint it into Corporate....

Not much point, if anyone is following the bus or spot it at Belsay, Wallington or Bolam then they've pretty much already made their mind up on how they're getting there.

The paintjob is only around 2 years old at the very least, and the majority of the vehicle's use is on a private contract which doesn't really need the money spent on corporate branded vehicle.
I didn’t realise the diesel Yutongs had received GNE red seats at some point.
Would be nice to see them in Corporate livery too.

Out of interest does anyone know if the two screens onboard usually show Next Stop Announcements or just CCTV?

Green Arrow 5490 was on the X75 yesterday for the last day of the service operating. Anyone know/have an idea why a Green Arrow example was chosen to run the service? I was surprised to see it at Haymarket Bus Station, never thought a different bus would be on. Every Saturday I checked and it was the same buses, yesterday I didn't check and had given up hope of seeing a different bus after months of hoping to see a few different buses on.

Just for curiosity sake, would the driver have possibly let me off along Ponteland Road yesterday? My ticket was valid for the journey, but the first stop was Ponteland Main Street, where I wouldn't have been able to go.

The NHS Hopper contract service will run from Percy Main now instead of Riverside, as Percy Main are better placed for driving staff. As such 5499 and 5500 have transferred to Percy Main.

The 96 now interworks with the 49 (due to the temporary frequency reduction on the 97) and as such there is a surplus of Green Arrow E200s - hence being allocated to the X75 yesterday.

No.

It is not a scheduled (registered) stop and it defeats the point of the service.

There's probably some red tape/health & safety/insurance reason about stopping at none scheduled stops as well.

Ah, so nothing to do with it being the last day of the X75? It's a shame it took until its last day for it to get a different (and more cheerful) bus.

Where are the surplus Green Arrow E200s going to be allocated then?

Is the X75 likely to return next summer?

Thanks.

Yes if a driver stops and someone boards or alights and has an accident whilst doing so the driver gets wrong for doing so as they should not have stopped so its best not to, pulling past a scheduled stop and stopping because it is blocked for some reason is ok as it is still classed as a safe place, also once one driver stops at an unserved stop word spreads and people expect every driver to stop there causing problems for others
Are we likely to see the X75 return next summer? Belsay is apparently quite a popular beauty spot, but I don't think many people used the X75 this year.

Personally I don't think either the X75 or the X11 will run again next year. Could there be any other similar ideas for summer trips ?
