It's at Percy Main for MOT (scheduled next Friday), then it will transfer to Consett along with the other Hybrids.

Back in service at Deptford. 8329 is also at Deptford (in Berries livery) but off the road for MOT.
Both are the first two examples to be fitted with USBs too.

I see 8331 has a full blue rear: https://flic.kr/p/2mBjyua
A little different - Versas usually have the upper panel (imitation window?) black don’t they?

From a quick look around on Flickr, it seems like Versas that have the registration plate on the upper panel have the whole panel black, presumably as it would look odd having two 'cut outs', one for the display and one for the plate, whilst the Versas with the registration plate on the bottom have the 'body colour' panel.
Not sure if that's the reason, but from the limited number of Versa arse shots, that's what it looks like

The main reason is that it was intended for 8331 to be painted into Berries livery (so the entire batch branded were 8330 - 8338 in consecutive order), so it received the white vinyl on the rear to allow the black glass panel to be painted (and in turn allow for extra vinyl messaging). Thorntons painted 8329 and 8331 the wrong way round, but the back glass panel was still painted in blue anyway just to see what it would look like.
It's a bug bear of mine that when this glass is supplied it comes with the registration 'cut out' at the top right as per the original 2009 and 2010 specification Versas, so yes, this extra vinyl also helps to cover that up on any examples which have had that replaced over the years.

The downside to having it pained blue is that it shows how baron the back of a Versa is, at least with the smaller destination display, since there's no back window
It definitely needs some marketing crap on the back to fill the space

How accessible is behind that panel, presumably there has to be some access without removal of the glass to change the registration plate? (although I wouldn't be surprised if there was none!)

Out of interest, will the white vehicles in the fleet (Versa's 5507/08/8347 and Yutong's 5499/5500) be repainted into fleet liveries at some point?

Am I right in thinking the 4 yellow Xlines streetdecks from Consett/Durham routes are currently being repainted into Corporate livery?
Is anything else due to go Corporate?

Me too, to be honest. I am not sure if this batch has ever been retrimmed in full, despite knocking on for 10 years old.

Wish a larger percentage of the fleet looked like that. Smart and simple, and not plastered with graphics, slogans or names.

Totally disagree, the issue with the design of the Streetdeck is that because of the small windows, there's an absolutely massive blank slab in the middle that just looks awful when painted a solid colour.]
As a sidenote, it seems 6307 has been on the X10 for a few days now and hasn't yet exploded. Seems very unreliable

Just for a couple of weeks to assist while buses are away for repaint.

Easily solved with an advert board.
