Maybe he's thinking of the floor upstairs. Certainly not as low as the floor downstairs...

The morning short 50 at 07:40 from Washington to Durham now seems to be allocated an X Lines X1 Streetdeck. I'm sure it used to be run from Chester le Street before the changes

Yes, that one entertained littlun while we waited for his taxi. Almost as much as the angel that appeared on it, a few weeks ago. Corporate, this morning.

6161 on 12/12A and 6
6178 on X21
6337 on 12A and 6
Versa 8326 has ran in out of service to Consett tonight. Possibly covering a failure?

Covered the 19:55 X72 to Stanley & 20:55 X72 to Crookgate seemingly replacing 6351.
6376 on the 56 - I must say it looks nice, could we see a order placed? Maybe a test.
Also wonder when the 60 will be due the next set of vehciles as it seems to be in the 'flagship' route brands, and is quite busy.
5363 on the 33 & 2A I would love to see GNE get a few of these for maybe the 6/12/12A in the future

Perhaps an indication as to where the Angel StreetDecks will end up if EV bid passes.

Maybe with a interior re-fresh aswell, I wonder what i'll happen to the current ones
8347 was on the Q3 late this afternoon, couldn't miss it passing my shop in Wallsend with it being white.
Also noted an Omnicity floating around, didn't really check on bus times to see if it was in service or not.

If the frequency reduction on the 20 is permanent, I reckon we could see the 60 gain some of the ex-Prince Bishops Streetlites. Given that only 13 of the current 16 would be needed, the three remaining alongside 5438-5441 could gain the new Drifter livery. The older fleet of 5369-5376 could then be used as spares instead.

I agree, the current Drifters don't have WIFI etc either but are likely to get an upgrade.
When will see the Drifter/Blue Brands?

The Drifter buses have Wi-Fi and next stop announcements (and have from new). The only thing they lack is high back seats and USB charging points.

Oh, can tell I haven't been on them for a LONG time haha
Infact, I think the last time I was on a GNE bus was March 2020, just before we went in to lockdown.

if they were ever to get Euro 6, personally I would put Ex Drifterss & Prince Bishops on less profitable service, than moving a busy services buses on a busy serives buses - e.g they would go onto 61/55/35/25/28 etc.
I think Drifter would get new buses with the older versions going onto less profitable services with older Versa's and Mercedes currently on them.
Honestly same with the 4, get those buses off (when money comes obvs) get biggger buses in and get them onto 55/61/35 as they can't be upgraded iirc

Bigger buses for the 4 is a tall order. Off the top of my head, those Mercs are the 10.6m versions. You would have to order 12m singles to increase capacity (and the increase would be marginal), as you have the 12' height restriction for the low bridge at Penshaw Bank Top. If you wanted to put deckers on, you'd have to re-route the 4 via the Washington Highway
