North East Buses

I asked Dan on twitter if the buses were getting done up right now to go into the Fleet Livery.
I got a response from him saying '6331 is currently at Saltmeadows but is not going into Fleet livery'

Any ideas of what this could be? Doubt it would be the X1 as a Newer interior Streetdeck from the X-Lines Green batch is set to join the X1 family due to the X45/X46 PVR dropping by 4 with the loss of the X47 being the 47/47A and now 2 X45's an hour and 1 X46 an Hour.

I already mentioned this in another thread.

However someone said that he was told all depots are getting "special bus" so maybe that could be one. This seems a lot plausable with Peterlee Depot shutting down now.

Would these not likely end up at Washington / Chester Le Street?

Angel currently has 2x branded spares due to the reduced frequency currently being operated.

There’s been a voyager on the 21 a few times this last week (actually preferable to the street decks, that thing moves!)  though noticed the X1A and some 25s have taken an angelic feel.

X1A is just allocated whatever does the 91 from the Team Valley in the evening

Not any more.  All X1A now work off main X1 workings.

this may be the new Pride Vehicle. Back is still needed to be painted. but the front is a part of the end result

BusTimes says 6331 is in corporate livery!

Highly doubt it, it's the total wrong colour.

The green looks very close to the light Angel colour to me.

that was wrong, and correct by Dan, saying it was being repainted but not in corporate.

I'd go with a refreshed "Angel" livery however not a fan of how light that yellow is, almost as bad as the cream on the East Durham Explorer, much prefer current tones of yellow/green on the Angels

I've just be sitting for a minute deciding whether it is but it's definitely green the light colour like not yellow.

I thought the Angel PVR was only 16x?

Would 2x of 6331-6333 not be better suited making up the PVR of the X21 rather than using 6334/35?

Maybe they might be adding extra frequency to Durham, or extending the 21 to Bowburn Amazon every 30 mins, so Durham has a every 15 min frequency. 

just a idea.

well its not gonna be the Angel as these 3 streetdecks came off the 21 to do X21 duties

You might be right given the way things are going. And the 21 would be the ideal route.

If and big if the Angel goes back to it's normal frequency (every 7.5 minutes) then the route has been extended to Brandon since then. 

There'd be enough buses but there's likely to always be one off the road so it's possible.

I don't think it will go back to it's normal frequency, from what I have seen it seems fine being every 10 minutes.

Not for us in Durham, it isn't.

Fair enough for people in Durham, but from Newcastle - Chester it seems to be coping at it''s current reduced frequency.

Another probably wrong prediction, but maybe they are planning on putting the 21 back to every 7/8 minutes soon and because the 21 will need an extra bus because of the Brandon extension, they have repainted 6331 into a new angel livery as it's currently not really needed the vehicle due to the x45/6 dropping in PVR. This is probably wrong, but worth a guess.

6331 is in service at Chester le Street today in its new livery.
