But it doesn't seem like they've got a lot of contract work to do, they've only got the 82/30/31/701 for single deckers. They still have a few schools
701 has been awarded to Go north east from September

GNE will need another Euro 6 Solo for that then!
How long have JH had contactless card readers for? I needed to dash into Birtley yesterday and the 82 rocked up after a few 21 no shows. Was expecting to be turned away and was pleasantly surprised to see they took card payments. 20p more expensive than GNE but they turned up at least....
It was quicker than the X12! Quite impressed!

JH Coaches LK09 EOD by kieron mathews, on Flickr
LK09 EOD has been repainted red recently as last time I saw it was white
So are they doing away with the gold completely now, or is it something like red for service buses and gold for coaching?

I believe that is the case for their fleet now

Definitely red for service buses (although there seem to be a couple of different shades) and gold for coaches.
Seems a sensible move.

What makes it sensible?
Would one colour - gold as they’ve traditionally been known - not be more effective and provide them with a stronger identity?
I regularly see comments about Go North East branding and different liveries from Ian Shipley - so it’s interesting that they have adopted a similar strategy for buses vs coaches (on a much smaller scale to GNE’s branding strategy - but certainly similar).
I personally think the gold Tridents looked a lot smarter than their dual-door red Volvo B7. Some of the gold Tridents were tatty towards the end with lots of shades of gold but certainly a few years ago they stood out from the rest as being very presentable.

There was a red E200 broke down just have the low fell. Didn't see what happened tho the engine flap was open.
Seen NK54 NVD (1016) on the 30 tonight, is that a regular occurrence?
Earlier today I was on the 701 and there was a very rude driver who literally told me to not get off at the bus stop I wanted to (en route may I add) as I could've walked from the one before.
Just to be clear the 2 bus stops I am talking about is the ones on Hylton Rd between Clanny House and ALDI. Yes they are close together. But what business is it of the drivers if I got off the second one...? It is a bus stop and I have the right to use it.
For context I came back from York early in the morning and had to go straight to University, so still had my big bag with me as well as My legs have been hurting quite a bit.
I'm not sure whether I should complain due to the attitude (which had no reason for as he wasn't even late), the fact he was rude to other passengers or using every chance to use the horn. The 701 is 9-2 (roughly) so the day can't have been that bad to take it out on passengers by 1030.

Send it in to Nexus - customerrelations@nexus.org.uk. It's up to them to take it up with their contractor.
That driver is in the wrong job, logidoodah.

They also seem to have the yellow Scania decker that Phoenix used on the 434.

The Scania Omnicity double decker at JH is YSV815 (LX09AHD), Phoenix has its sister LX09AHE, both came to their respective operators from Belle Vue.
Struggling to keep up with their fleet with all the comings and goings plus remembering what's been reported where lol
Ah right, haven't seen AHE out for a while so assumed it was the same bus!
Jim Hughes out in force today on Metro replacements from Haymarket to Regent Centre and Four Lane Ends. Of particular note, I saw two yellow Scania Omnicity deckers, VNP 893 and YSV 815, also white decker TVE 804 with Tamar Coaches (Plymouth) fleetname on the front. Not sure but possibly Scania Omnidekka ?

Bustimes.org has now put up the 30 as canceled by Jh. Guessing the 31 is also canceled by them as well
I don't see why the 6 doesn't just replace the 30, every hour to Lanchester via Quaking Houses, then hourly just to Quaking Houses

The contract for the 30/31 has been awarded to Stanley Travel

Takes 30 minutes to Cramlington according to the timetable. Could use coaches tbh alongside deckers

They can't use coaches - the contract requires low-floor double-deck buses which are mincap84.

I assume it'll be worked by a omnicity DD then, as being ex-london it'll be euro 6.
