Appreciate there will likely be a couple later into the peak which might do better, but one or two trips a day with a decent loading surely cannot justify a 20 minute frequency for much longer.
The X47 has nowhere near enough time in it in the peaks, and is just about right during the day - but any delays and the entire thing is a shambles. The Sunday timetable may as well not exist, they run in pairs and neither of them are at the time they should be. The X47 does carry far larger passenger loadings into/out of Great Park than I ever remember the Q3 taking, the same cannot be said for the 49 though.
A walk across the bridge and an Arriva express from Brunton Lane tends to be quicker than both the Q3 and X47, time of day dependent for the latter. It's what I do after a match, as Stagecoach seem to be playing a game of allocating the smallest available vehicle, while Arriva run multiple dupes. Given the amount of people who get off with me at Brunton Lane and start the walk over the A1, I'd say it's a fairly common thing.
It's at different times during the day around Civic Centre that I normally see them. I'd say normally an average of around 10 on them when I see them.
From what I've heard, the Great Park groups might be trying to get their complaints heard again about the x47. Kingston Park is an absolute nightmare, I do understand the complaints.
Feel free to move this to the suggestions thread.
But could there not be a Great North Road partnership agreement put in place to sort the Great Park issues out? Yes a PVR increase, but would actually work for passengers
- 43 every 15 mins as now
- 44 every 15 mins as now
- 45 every 15 mins as now
- NEW 46 every 15 mins Great Park to Haymarket via Gosforth operated by GNE
Nice clean 5 minute frequency from Brunton Park to Newcastle, all using electric vehicles. Gosforth issue sorted out and something else could pick up the Quayside / Eastern Part of the Q3.
35 could be put back through Jesmond.

Arriva aren't going to back that and why should they?
There's competition there for a reason, if GoNorthEast wants to try and make something from a corridor then that's on them but you can't expect them to be given it on a plate.
Either way if there was going to be any partnership then Stagecoach should have it anyway, with the 30/31/43/44/45/46 giving 24 buses an hour combined from Gosforth and the 46/X47 giving 8 BPH combined from the Great Park.

Kingston Park is horrendous, all the routes that go through there for Stagecoach, 6, X47 and X78 (yes the X77&79 go through but not often) they all end up really late. What doesn’t help is Aldi putting a store in there, Newcastle City Councils resurfacing of the junction at Tudor Way which now the lights don’t work as intended takes 2+ minutes to cycle through to Tudor Way where the X47 comes from and doesn’t stay green long enough. The council don’t seem to care either, and with it getting close to Christmas I can see it getting worse.
Oh and btw Lidl are trying to get into Kingston Park as well so that’s just going to make things 10x worse!!
In an ideal world, the solution for Great Park would be every 30 minutes via Kingston Park and every 30 minutes via Great North Road, but that would require Great Park and GNE cooperating....

Not sure it would personally, that's just two infrequent services. I'd imagine the vast majority of people would rather have the X47 every 15 minutes over that. It just appears to be a very minor vocal minority moaning otherwise.
In an ideal world, you'd have a very frequent bus service from the Regent Centre to Great Park and people would change on the Metro imo. There's no need for buses from everywhere to Newcastle.
Unless you want to be in the Haymarket area, it would be quicker or neglible in time difference, at best, since you can get further into the city at Monument / Central

Most of the match day going folk I know get the X47 to Kingston and switch to the Metro - far far quicker. As well as Kingston Park, the X47 gets stuck on Cowgate and the Central Motorway (plus that awful new roundabout at the RVI)

Don't blame them either, I'd probably do the same, as long as I had a ticket which I could do both, at least.
Truthfully, the X47 probably shouldn't really exist in an ideal world either and should be integrations from the Metro station aswell. Like it arguably serves nothing that other services do - even known people do use it but that's just the North East's broken transport network.
Would solve the traffic problems aswell as there's no traffic hot spots between Kingston Park and the Great Park (or Regent Centre) if you wanted to run it through as one service.

Aye no arguments there. The ironic part, is the same people moaning no doubt get the bus to Eldon Square then walk all the way to Central or something and are totally ignorant to the fact that the 10 minute walk in Newcastle, is a hell of a lot longer than the short change, especially when the traffic at Kingston Park, Cowgate, the RVI etc all come into it aswell.

This has got nothing to do with new orders or electric buses please keep this to service changes section
Do we have an estimated delivery date for some of this stock
It's coming up to 4 years next February when the blue Electroliner was trialled on the 21

Presumably part of the 1,200 Go Ahead Group vehicle order - after East Yorkshire who's are starting being delivered?
Confirmation that Go North East have an order in place for the New Generation Cummins Wright Streetdeck Ultroliner.

Wonder if GNE got a significant discount on these in lieu of the issues faced with existing StreetDecks & StreetLites?
Hopefully they've sneaked a few in for the X10 too which would displace the E400MMCs to help out at Consett!
Also - although the 56 was mentioned, surely GNE would keep the 56 branded as that's a key route for GNE? Unless they've had a u-turn and maybe chose the 10/10A/10B/12 instead.

With style of tree deflector attached to the front upper deck I wouldn't be surprised if this specific example was destined for Consett, from reading the comments on the Facebook Post 7 have been built thus far for Go North East.

56 are definitely getting an upgrade, but not necessarily brand new

E400MMC's 6339-6355 would fit the allocation the 56 perfectly if this service was not getting brand new buses.
You'd hope Go North East would be sorting out allocation issues for the X10/X21 and X30's/X70's by purchasing a complete new batch of buses for all services.

Great to see new vehicles coming in Fleet livery.
Has there ever been BRAND NEW buses arrive in the current fleet livery?

I don't think it will be Consett getting any of these unless a subset for the 47/X45.
They don't appear to be low height which would be a no-go for the X30s/X70s unless WrightBus have managed to shave a bit off without losing too much.
If it mentions upgrades for the 56 - this reads to me going on the X1 with Daimler StreetDecks going on the 56 - which would be quite a downgrade IMO especially as they've already been worked hard on the X1 and the 56 whilst easier does still have challenges.
I still stand by my word that the 307/309 are well suited routes for StreetDecks as they don't have any challenging sections - and the only truly fast parts being Station Road > Benfield Road and Blyth Road between the Caravan Park and Delaval Arms. The rest of both routes especially the 307 is basically pottering around the doors.

Usually one out of every branded vehicle came fleet livery, 5438,,39,40 & 41 came fleet livery out of prince bishops &, city rider (or then fab fifty six) was 6099 & 6100.

One of the 200MMCs did, can't remember which.

Yes Diesel, ..
It looks like the X10 could be getting 4x too.
If that's the case, then Consett is pretty much sorted
So if they're replaced on the X10 - would be:
- X30s/X70s - 12x E400MMC
- X45 - 5x E400MMC
- 3x spare E400MMC
- 16/16A/47/X5/X15 - 18x B9TL
- 2x spare B9TL (out of 6043-48 and 6086-99)

I heard a rumour a couple of months back that X1 were getting new diesel vehicles in January, so these could be them
Are these Cummins Streetdecks in use anywhere else? Never seen one before. It's interesting as it might be like an Enviro 400 MMC, but then the DB300 is quite different from an original Enviro 400, so hopefully they are good,

DB300 had a 205bph Cummins but with a Voith Gearbox - as opposed to Stagecoach's E400 classics with 240/250bph Cummins & Voith.
These will either be 250BPH or 300BPH with 7 speed DIWA NXT gearboxes
