6187 and 6188 still in service at Washington
6188 isnt tracking but passed it this morning in service.
6184 is the only example still working at Consett, imagine once the remaining X1 streetdecks transfer it will join the rest in being iwthdrawn.
I must say as for the drifters the only issues iirc were 5369 wouldn't change gear, 5370 went into limp mode a lot and 5372 had about 3 different engines that wouldn't go over 6mph on hills
71,73,74,75,76 have all been great examples

By God, washington are hanging onto the last 3 or so streetdecks. I thought they would've all been at consett by now

They have started to debrand the ones already at Hownsgill, noticed this morning.

Will they go for repaint or stay as they are

Imagine the same as deptfords B5s they will just stay in XLINES livery and be used across the board.
Any shots of the debranded vehicles?
6950 is at Hexham today, on route 684, and Percy Main are using 6958 on the 309 too.

That’s certainly the priority, getting rid of places that the bus doesn't serve, so a good start.
Looking forward to these going into 2026 livery. Fingers crossed for black headlight surrounds!
I'd imagine if the X1 changes go ahead then 6397-6400 will move from Riverside to Washington to cover the PVR increase.

Typical.
New Buses for a Route and then decide a few weeks later after they all arrive "We should extend the Route twice". Which will require more buses

Has it happened before?
Thankfully those vehicles are in fleet livery so can be moved around as and where needed.

Sorry I should of worded it different.
When it comes to brands obviously a few times, but for buses I think possibly the X30 (Consett Extension) which was shortened to Stanley under a year after the new MMC's arrived and then the X84/X85 got changed to the 684 & Peak time X85 Also, I guess you could throw the X46 being withdrawn & X47 becoming split into the 47/47A. They became downgrades from the Streetdecks to the B9's.
I think the quickest allocation change was the Crusader 27 in 2012. Going from the B10's to Citaros. Jan 2012 - Jan 2013
And yes fortunately that they are in Fleet Livery. People in Gateshead must be loving exploring the Red Kite region of Wardley with the Red B9's. ?
GNE did a similar thing in 2016 when they got the brand new Indigo Optare Solo's at Percy Main 672 - 680, and then a couple of months later they added the 42 to the indigo network so there wasn't enough of them, so some trips were then the older 61 plates instead.
Also when the X84/85 went X lines was the PVR not 5 for a while, with 6337, or was that just a spare, I am not sure. There are other examples which have happened later after an order, like with 3962 and 65 being added in to the Angel as well as 6056 - 70, and the PVR of the 10 services has changed many times, as has the 307/309 since their buses were ordered.

Now after having a thought It has happened a lot more times:
- IndiGO Washington had 2 Older Optare Solo's branded up for the 85/86
- Most Recently the CityRiders taking on the Cobalt Interior G2 6099
- The Dealer Stock 2015 Gemini 2's for the Red Kite 47 (Riverside Route at the time) made its way onto the Consett 45/46 to make the Streetlite & Gemini allocation for the 45/46/47
There is probably a lot more. As much as I like the brands that GNE had. This gives good reasons to go Fleet Livery.
6945, 6947, 6948, 6952 & ave now all been withdrawn.

Do you know what that is replacing there? Are they phasing out the London deckers? or maybe keeping those and having more double deck workings, phasing out some older Streetlites instead?
Just curious but does anyone know what's actually wrong with the Diesel Streetdeck's. They must be some of the most unreliable vehicles to ever join a fleet.
I get you get teething issues, but these have been absolutely awful since purchase and half of them are still are off the road / on local routes / on schools.

I just dont think most of them are actually allocated to the correct routes.
The 4 at Riverside (which you would assume were for the X10) seem to be kept on local services.
The seem to allocate anything to the X1 before the Streetdecks are allocated.
Consetts batch seem to hover between the 47/X45.
Its almost like it depends on whos allocating buses on a day to day basis.
The X5/X15 today has 2 Enviro 400s, 1 Streetdeck & A solo, for example.
It takes about 7 days now to get in for repaint and reallocate (still repainiting into the 2019 fleet livery for some reason) - At least 1/3 of the fleet are branded for routes that no longer or exist or are off on the wrong route.
Noticed Hownsgill has a new sign with the new logo and branding on.

Aye could be, it's a strange one as it just feels like they're trying to keep them off the longer routes, especially at Riverside. Like picking Consett, they're keeping the E400's on the Newcastle Expresses and the E400's on the 16 so it's not like everything is all over the place.
Just assumed there's something wrong behind the scenes.
It's the same at Washington too, I see more of the 75 plates on the 50 than I do on the X1. Mixing allocations wouldn't even be that bad, but you'd think they'd keep some of the 70 plates at Washington for the 50 rather than having buses 10 years apart mixed on both routes, it doesn't really make sense to me.

Think we all knew, they wouldn't allocate a full 75 reg allocation on the X1..
If the X1 changes go ahead, then it'll be even worse, I don't get why they can't allocate buses to the proper routes.

Yeah it's a strange one, noticed that 6301-7 have been pretty much exclusively been allocated to the X1 or the ferry replacement in recent days aswell.
It's almost they're doing everything so they're not on the X1 for some reason.
6950 is the last remaining Dual Door Enviro in service (hexham)
6184 is now withdrawn from Hownsgill marking the end of the B9TL Gemini 1 at Consett, Hopefully the seats from 6190/6191 will be we kept with them being highback, and fitted to another bus.
6195 was taken by Alpha from Hownsgill
6187/6188 remain in service at Washington (the last 2 ex Manchester Geminis)
6193,6194,6196 all remain in service at Riverside (Euro 6) ex-EYMS
