With 5499 being a rare vehicle type (it and 5500 are the only two examples of the type in the country), I expect they are awaiting parts for it which have probably been delayed somewhere.

I was talking to a gateshead driver who said exactly that when off the road can be for Month's. Ive only been on one once on the 27 and really enjoyed it srened fast but the driver pissed on my parade saying they were awful to drive

GNW have 7 of that batch currently out of service with the Electroliners taking their place, would'nt be surprised if all 7 of the 61 plates transfered across to replace the 4 remaining B9 G1's along with the 2 enviros dual doors still in service. There are also 9 60 plates B9s also out of service.
You also have the 3 older versas still in service that could be withdrawn, with deckers taking place on other services and cascading other single deckers.
