A couple of friends of mine knew an old tag-team partner of his from his time in the IWF. Apparently the tag-team partner, Hot Ed, was from Derwentside. His old IWF bio - long since vanished into the ether - also listed Rowlands Gill as his home town. Of course, as with a lot of things in wrestling, his hometown could have been worked although I don't understand the importance of stating one over the other.

Organised by Alex Shane. Good at generating publicity but I'd take everything that man says with a huge pinch of salt.

Very sad.

Hope they bring back War Games in his memory. It was perhaps the best kind of match he ever created.

Agreed Adam, very sad indeed...From what I have tried to find out, seems like he took a fall at home, EMTs were called and he died of Kidney failure at hospital...He took bumps and falls for like 40-50 years in the ring, then seemingly dies suddenly after a fall at home

Wrestling has lost one of the true great wrestling greats...Would it be fair to say, that, in my opinion Dusty was one of the finest ever talkers in Wrestling...Some of the lines he come up with were great

'I've wined and kings and Queens...I've slept in alleys and dined on pork and beans' is one that instantly sticks out

Thoughts and prayers go out his family...

I am actually shocked to hear that and genuinely sad and upset [LOUDLY CRYING FACE][LOUDLY CRYING FACE][LOUDLY CRYING FACE][LOUDLY CRYING FACE][LOUDLY CRYING FACE]

I was never a big Dusty fan to be honest. The first time I saw him was on a few WWF tapes I owned. His career was winding down and he was obviously past his prime. I thought he was boring.

I've watched old NWA stuff featuring Dusty. Some of his matches are decent, but he was always wrestling the likes of The Horsemen. His promos were probably the best thing about his act but, once again, they never really appealed to me that much. At the time, I was heavily into ECW and absolutely loved the style of promo Raven and Cactus Jack used. Obviously their style was a lot less jovial than Dusty's.

Loved War Games though!

I have heard of War Games, but how does it work, is it like an elimination chamber match, but for tag teams/factions?

Never watched much E-C-Dub to be honest, though I did watch it every now and again...

Don't think many would deny Dusty the honour of being amongst the best in history...And he certainly lived up to his nickname...He lived the dream we would like to live I reckon...

Didn't he also excel in booking and being a road agent?

My favourite War Games match from Wrestle War 1992 (Paul Heyman's Dangerous Alliance: Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton and Larry Zbyszko -vs- Sting's Squadron: Sting, Nikita Koloff, Bary Windham, Dustin Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat). The rules are explained at the beginning of the video/match. You have to watch it to appreciate it though. It was very much a precursor to the Elimination Chamber.

Debatable. Like most bookers, he had his moments but was reluctant to change his booking philosophy over time. Look up the term 'Dusty Finish'. It's still used today and is effective when used sporadically, but it tends to have negative effects if used all the time.

Forgot about the Dusty Finish...Isn't that where a wrestler seemingly wins a match only to have victory snatched away on a technicality???

Correct me if I am Sure I read somewhere years ago that it was never something invented Ol' Dusty himself, but became synonomous with him as he used that finish all the time
I can see where your coming from Adam

Who here has the Network?

Watched the Dusty Tribute and got to admit it was quite moving...

Flair, HHH and Steph were visibly moved and in tears, and although he had been around for years, I never realised just how many lives he touched, every single worker who has gone through NXT in the last 5 years seem to have been touched by 'Dream'

Steph talking about being in the ring exchanging words with Dusty, people like Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, William Regal, Cesaro and many more spoke about him with the utmost respect...

It has been another bad week for TNA Impact Wrestling, with Superstars including Samuel Shaw, Low Ki, James Storm, Magnus, Gunner and Austin Aries all opting to leave the company following on from Samoa Joe and a few others in recent months, by the looks of it is all to do with Money and they are unhappy with what they are earning, and have therefore requested for the release, and TNA has more than happily obliged, Storm and Magnus are set to face each other tonight at the Slammiversary PPV which will air live across the World, I believe it should air on Challenge here in the UK, This will be Storm/Magnus final match in TNA, Magnus is apparently jumping ship to Jeff Jarretts Global Force Wrestling.

Speaking of Mr Jarrett he made a shock return to Impact this week for there live episode which was actually not to bad to watch if I am honest, in which he announced he would compete in the "King of the Mountain" Match against Bobby Roode, Drew Galloway, Eric Young and Matt Hardy, this is reportedly so he could leave TNA on his own terms which he didnt get the chance to do, but I think there will be more to it than that, which is quite funny as just as I am typing up this post it has been announced he will be Inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, I shall also guess that we will see TNA/GFW working Events together down the line.

The Winner of the KOTM Match will receive a New Championship which will be named the "King of the Mountain Championship", to be honest I dont see the point of this, would of been better if the winner simply received a TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match instead.

Vader & Matt Morgan also made appearances to take on Bram who has been challenging any past TNA Wrestler to a Match as of late.

Moving onto the TNA WHC, Ethan Carter III (EC3) Defeated Kurt Angle for Title in Pre-Recorded Match which will air on TV this upcoming Wednesday, and it has been announced that Kurt Angle will have to Neck Surgery once again to remove a Tumor, it is unknown whether it is Malignant or Benign, going to be honest here and say I dont think Kurt Angle will ever Wrestle again, quite a sad way to go out after such a great career in Wrestling with both WWE & TNA, hopefully he will go on to make a speedy recovery.

Hulk Hogan's attorney has today hit back at reports that WWE "fired" Hogan after it emerged he had used racial slurs in an audio which is about to be leaked online. Subsequent audio interviews in which Hogan has used the "n-word" have also resurfaced online.

Hogan is reported to have resigned from the WWE late Thursday evening.

The audio tape which is about to leak is of Hogan discussing his daughter Brooke's music career. He repeatedly used the n-word while talking about a black guy she was dating at the time.

The transcript of comments made are expected to come out later this year in relation to his sex tape trial against Gawker Media over the publishing of the celebrity's sex tape.

It would seem Hogan knew it would cause a stir and did the right thing by walking away from WWE to protect their image.

WWE issued the following statement regarding the termination of Hulk Hogan's contract:

"WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide."

UPDATED: The Enquirer and Radar have published excerpts of transcripts submitted to a Florida court overseeing Hulk Hogan’s $100 million lawsuit against Gawker Media. Hogan makes reference to a “black billionaire,” who apparently offered to fund his daughter’s burgeoning music career, and the billionaire’s son.

“I don’t know if Brooke was f*cking the black guy’s son,” Hulk raved, the sources add.

“I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*cking n*ggers. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever.” ...

According to sources, he said: “I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*ck some n*gger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n*gger worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player!

[b]“I guess we’re all a little racist. Fucking n*gger.”

Speak for yourself there Hulkster...Not everyone is racist, even a little bit...

What a bell end...1 minute saying he ain't racist, then admitting he was a bit

I have never liked Hogan and this shows backs up my thoughts on him

That man is a bell end in my opinion...

As for Curtis Axel is this the end of his Axelmania gimmick lol

Never liked him personally, always been one of them who couldnt just walk away from Wrestling and enjoy retirement etc, always had to have is nose in somewhere, would also personally blame him of the downfall of TNA, TNA as a Company were doing great and I enjoyed watching Impact until him and EB came along and ruined everything that was good about the Company, Dixie didnt help much either after they both left, guess he has stuck around for so long to pay for all these lawsuits he is filing for or having filed against him, by the looks of it WWE are completely erasing him from History so that nobody will remember him in years to come.
