Does anybody have dertails of an up to date fleetlist as the one on the other North East Buses has not been updated for almost a year.
More or less the same as that other than the 2nd ex First Solo (V470GBH) and SB58BUS being sold to Weardale. Not sure whether the Vario is still there though, possibly used on Newton Aycliffe towns?
Optare Solo SR SB10BUS has returned to service after several months off the road...
From a quick check on DVLA the Merc's N600JSB and X651WTN both appear to be withdrawn.
A new addition at SB Travel is a 53 reg black and silver Solo. (wasn't expecting to see this so I failed to note the registration)

The Solo is MP53ZTW (we think that is the registration, not 100% certain on the Z yet) (as seen below on 'The Northern Road Transport Trust' - post, information and photo @ Mark Dolan)

Does JSB do the 116

It was operated by Central Coaches until January this year when it passed over to JSB Travel although I am not sure of the reasons for this happening.

Central Coaches operated the 116 commercially, but it was unsuccessful so Central Coaches decided to withdraw the service from January. Then Durham County Council decided to save the service and JSB Travel have operated the service since January. I imagine DCC didn't choose Central Coaches because the bus was awful and it was often off the road so there was many occasions where there was no 116 for days.
Newton Aycliffe Town Service 116 is an absolute waste of space. There is many occasions where the service doesn't turn up and if the service does turn up it can be anything up to 15 minutes late as the timetable is simply impossible to keep to, timetable states it takes 12 minutes to get from Heighington to Newton Aycliffe town centre although I put the route into Google maps and it came back with a journey time of 19 minutes. Also the route the service takes is insane for example it stops outside Greenfield comprehensive school twice on the way to the town centre but doesn't stop there on the way back to Heighington. Also the drivers look scruffy as owt as many of them just wear a pair of jeans and tatty T-shirts, think one of said sex, drugs and sausage rolls which looks scruffy and unprofessional. Last week was the first time in over 6 months I actually managed to ride the service after many failed attempts. Also the other town services often display service 19 which it hasn't been for over 3 years (should be 17/18) and other days it displays JSB Travel which is not helpful as they have more than one town service in Newton Aycliffe. I feel sorry for the people of School Aycliffe as this is their only bus service apart from the peak time only Scarlet Band 16A. Durham County Council should really be doing something about this as they subsidise the service.
The 1300 Service 116 left Newton Aycliffe Town Centre 5 minutes late today.

The other town bus has JSB Travel on the screen and the driver is driving with the doors open.
Seem as the current Newton Aycliffe Town Service 116 timetable is impossible to keep to, I've got a suggestion for a new route and timetable.

Heighington..............30
School Aycliffe...........33
Dandy Cart...............36
Meadowfield Way.......38
Alston Crescent..........40
Meadowfield Way........42
Burn Lane..................45
Tesco........................48
Aycliffe Town Centre...50

Aycliffe Town Centre....10
Tesco.........................12
Burn Lane...................14
Meadowfield Way.........17
Alston Crescent............19
Meadowfield Way.........21
Dandy Cart..................23
School Aycliffe.............26
Heighington.................29

Also a new service 117 which will interwork with the 116.

Aycliffe Town Centre....50
Tesco.........................52
Burn Lane...................55
Woodham, Stag Lane...00
Burn Lane...................04
Tesco.........................07
Aycliffe Town Centre....09

My revised 116 would restore a link to Tesco for Burnhill Way which was lost when Service 16 was withdrawn.

The 117 would be a circular through Woodham and will go straight on after Burnhill Way Garage to the next roundabout and would then observe the same stops as Darlington bound service 7 through Woodham, it will also stop the OAPs of Woodham moaning that they don't have a bus to Tesco.
On VOSA today.

Wonder what is going to happen to the Newton Aycliffe town services, new operator maybe?
The JSB 116 served the whole of Newton Aycliffe this afternoon, wish I had my camera so I could catch this incredibly rare sight. Little wonder they appear to be losing the Aycliffe Town Services.

The 116 will only work if the route and timetable is sorted out as the timetable is impossible to keep to because it is so slack. I would like it if Weardale took over the services or Scarlet Band as they previously operated the 16 to Newton Aycliffe.

Anyone no where I can find timetable for 19-18 aycliffe service

Go to Google and type in "durham pindar", there's a link somewhere on there

The 19 was renumbered to 17 back in 2011 which I think was because the Arriva 19 (later operated by Scarlet Band) used to extend to Newton Aycliffe on weekday mornings.

Sometimes they still drive around the town with 19 on the display.

I see thank you guys
There was rumors that the 17/18 were going to be withdrawn last year.

http://www.newtonnews.co.uk/jsb-end-bus-route/

I also heard a rumour a while back from someone who lived in School Aycliffe saying that the 116 was going to be merged with the 17/18 and only run as far as School Aycliffe and no longer serve Heighington.
SERVICE 116 DIDN'T SERVE MY PART OF TOWN, YET AGAIN!!!

Roll on October when they will no longer be operating these town services especially as I think Durham County Council support these services!

Anyone know if a new operator is taking over these services and if so who?
