The Red Kite services, as Michael pointed out, have had their allocated OmniCitys since 2007 (ie 8 years this year). The same could apply to the Pronto if it was to receive investment. In my opinion, I don't think the ADL Enviro400s on the X18 will be quite as nice in 2022...

Hmm i had a re-think of my predicated order list:

Lime - 15 (2 spare, 1 for Chester, 1 for Stanley) - Streetlites

X66 - 5 - Streetlites
Pronto - 7 (1 spare) - E400
ToonLink - 14 (1 spare) - E400
Red Kite - 10 (1 spare) - Streelite/Versa
Crusader - 14 (1 spare) - E400

Is the cummin's engine on offer for all the makes of the enviro? (E200 etc)

Orders should hopefully start arriving within the next few weeks.
My Predictions:

25 Wright Streetlite 10.4m - East Durham and Tynedale Links
30 Wright Streetlite MAX - X66/Lime and Red Kite
20 Enviro 400MMC - Pronto and Toonlink

And I don't think the Hexham lads would he happy in 2020 with E400s after the trouble that 7430-7435 gave them on the 602 for three year.

They're not even remotely similar vehicles, so how can you make an accurate comparison?

7430-7435 - aren't they ALX400s?
The 602 was Arriva up until Go North East got the Hexham depot off Arriva.

And GNE have never had E400s (only the one that was parked at Riverside)
?????

But that is the legacy of all Dennis / Transbus / ADL and Cummins chassis. Volvo and Scania chassis are far superior products for anything out of towns and cities. Even the Spirit Buses MD wanted Volvos due to the superior quality but had to suffice for ADL instead due to finance.
And, before 7501 - 7506 left the 308 at 4 year old (3 year for 7506), they were crawling on the Coast Road slip roads.

Because they were going up bloody hills!  Angry
My opinion - Wright body on a Volvo chassis and you've got a bus that'll last a lifetime.

Howay man, the Coast Road sliproads aren't too bad and bar the odd trip out on a Blyth Express route, they didn't go anywhere near hilly or demanding routes.

EXACTLY!!!  Big Grin

Try and get that across to power-obsessed Jeremy Clarkson.

I think that might be giving too much away?... Tongue
That facebook comment just confirms what we already knew anyway. Should have asked about one of the other routes we think new buses would arrive for.

Tom beat me to it!!
I already have Wink
I might sound a bit negative, but what the hell.

Is it just me who couldn't care less what buses they're getting? They'll arrive when they arrive, and we'll have a good 15 year to see, ride or photograph them.

Only route i care about is the Lime 8... lol

Same. The Lime is all I need to know! Big Grin
I think it is more of an interest than caring. Obviously, people who live on route such as the lime will care but i wouldnt care for lets say the crusader (as an example) because i dont live on that route but I would be interested.

I'm the same, I'm only interested in else where but i kinda care whats gonna be on the lime because i live on the route.
