Lot 1. Westgate Road, RVI, Regent Centre.
Lot 2. Regent Centre to Freeman Hospital.

The contracts are for 5 years with the option for 2 extensions of 12 months based on a diesel vehicle. The 5 year period will be extended to 8 years for hybrid vehicles and 10 years for electric vehicles again the 2 extensions of 12months apply. Interesting to note that price only makes up 40% of the award criteria.

Any idea who won this?

Thanks Dan.
The University of Sunderland recently carried out a tendering exercise for the hire of buses and coaches. The selection was based on 60% quality and 40% cost with four suppliers qualifying. The 2 year contract with a potential value of £600,000 has been awarded to JH Coaches.

Thanks

Wonder if Go North East will go for all of them, they would fit nicely in their network.

Did anymore come of this?, heard nothing about it all.
Is there a reason why PCL only operate contracts for NCC and not Nexus?

Phoenix have now withdrawn their registration to operate the new contract for the 32A, M71 and W3.

Why? I noticed recently they had withdrawn their registration to operate the 32A from 24th March. Gateshead Central Taxis will now operate it, but I guess Phoenix was first choice but they have withdrawn?

Any idea when the 74 and 84/84A will come up for tender with Northumberland County Council and Nexus?

Thanks.

Phoenix had the cheapest bid.

After being awarded the contract, they withdrew their tender application during the 'cooling off' period and the contracts were awarded to the next cheapest operator (Gateshead Central Taxis).

Thank you.

Seems odd they would decide to withdraw their application when they won the contracts. Does that usually happen?

When did Nexus award the 32A to Phoenix and GCT? I only read on here recently GNE lost the service.

Hopefully GCT will do a good job of their new services. I have never used them before.

Because Nexus specify standards in the service. The main one being the bus actually turning up.
Nexus have issued the invitation to tender for services 792, 794 & 939 with a contract start in September 2019.
