RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Storx - 19 Aug 2023 (19 Aug 2023, 6:58 am)Rob44 not to be pedantic and i do see what you both mean bus inst NEXUS funded by the councisl of the old tyne and wear. So people in northumberland when they pay there poll tax/council tax or whatever its called are not paying into it and yet are gaining from a survice paid for by ounters in another county? I know how people from sunderland must have felt when they had no metro service! Depends who it benefits though, I can't imagine there's a massive flow of people from Cramlington wanting to go Weetslade and Dudley at night so arguably it's benefitting them more than Northumberland. Seaton Valley Parish / Northumberland Council subsidise the 57A through Annitsford and Northumberland Council subsidise the 19 (Backworth), 74 (Stamfordham), 309 (Early Runs), 684 (West End) and 808 (Woolsingham) for similar reasons. Don't believe Nexus fund any of them. The 57A being Nexus from Earsdon to North Shields only. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Rob44 - 19 Aug 2023 (19 Aug 2023, 11:08 am)Storx Depends who it benefits though, I can't imagine there's a massive flow of people from Cramlington wanting to go Weetslade and Dudley at night so arguably it's benefitting them more than Northumberland. Swings and roundabouts then. I just though if a bus traveled from one area to another that both areas would fund the service. The service runs every 15 minutes until early afternoon then drops to every 20 minutes can’t quite work out how that works. Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - pbjd - 20 Aug 2023 (19 Aug 2023, 11:50 pm)Coastliner700 The 71/72/87 is a very bizarre set of changes. I don't believe that any 309s are subsidised these days. Durham fund the 28/28B/29 whilst Nexus secure part of the 25 that runs in County Durham. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Storx - 20 Aug 2023 (20 Aug 2023, 7:40 am)busmanT I don't believe that any 309s are subsidised these days. Isn't there some very early Sunday journeys still, not sure though mind after the partnership? https://bustimes.org/registrations/PB0003954/304 - I know the registration still shows Northumberland under the subsidy box, assuming the No being for the 307. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - RobinHood - 20 Aug 2023 (11 Aug 2023, 9:55 am)Michael PB0001987/322 Still no acceptance on these. Another delay likely, similar to Service 1/2 in East Cleveland? RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Coastliner700 - 21 Aug 2023 (20 Aug 2023, 5:12 am)pbjd It’s to allow the 115 scholars to operate as it runs off 71/72. Sad they’re cutting commercial services to allow them to take on contracts ! Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - tyresmoke - 22 Aug 2023 (21 Aug 2023, 10:25 am)Coastliner700 Sad they’re cutting commercial services to allow them to take on contracts ! I suspect it’s more the only way the commercial stuff would survive. Without the contracts to back it up it would likely be gone altogether! Accepted Today , Both Parts RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Kuyoyo - 22 Aug 2023 (22 Aug 2023, 3:47 pm)gc802002 Accepted Today , Both Parts But with the start date pushed back 2 weeks to commence on the 21st September rather than the 4th. Meaning the residents along the 12 route will have a gap of two weeks between Arriva finishing on the 12 and Stagecoach’s 6/6A starting. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - gc802002 - 22 Aug 2023 (22 Aug 2023, 4:11 pm)Kuyoyo But with the start date pushed back 2 weeks to commence on the 21st September rather than the 4th. Unless the local authority pay Stagecoach an increased rate to run for free? I'm surprised that Stagecoach are taking any revenue risk in the first place! RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - col87 - 24 Aug 2023 (22 Aug 2023, 4:26 pm)gc802002 Unless the local authority pay Stagecoach an increased rate to run for free?Depends if Ben can get any photo opportunities out of it probably a picture of him on the bus parked outside the airport or something. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - itsadam - 30 Aug 2023 How come I saw a training vehicle going through Birtley at around half 12 today? RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - nova347 - 30 Aug 2023 (30 Aug 2023, 3:33 pm)itsadam How come I saw a training vehicle going through Birtley at around half 12 today? I always see Stagecoach Driver Training buses going through places stagecoach doesn't serve. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Ianthegoon - 31 Aug 2023 (30 Aug 2023, 3:33 pm)itsadam How come I saw a training vehicle going through Birtley at around half 12 today? They're training people how to drive a bus, not necessarily route learning them. When I first learned to drive a car, I was taken to some very quiet roads so I could get used to operating the machine, before being introduced to more and more typical roads. I can't imagine it'll be any different for buses; they're just looking for roads to give the learner some experience. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Rapidsnap - 01 Sep 2023 Also depends on where the test centres are, they might be learning one of the test routes. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Lottie332 - 05 Sep 2023 S17 has been awarded back to stagecoach and starts from today |
