RE: Arriva North East - Latest - cbma06 - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 6:16 pm)Dan Got to Level 5 and got bored. You can't actually get your third bus to go out because it doesn't let you scroll down. Your lucky, I couldn't even get the bus out of the depot lol. should of been a bit more realistic then Arriva management could learn a thing or two. You can't actually get your third bus to go out because it doesn't let you scroll down. Played to Level 2....and a bit and got bored. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - peter - 01 Aug 2014 Arriva have posted details of the service changes they are making to the 85, 685 and X85 from the 31st of August on their website: There will be a number of changes to services 85, 685 and X85 from Sunday 31st August 2014: Link: https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/content.aspx?id=34359743378 At the moment no new timetable has been published. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - buznut - 01 Aug 2014 So about Darlo's future changes! 6 omincities for X26/27 5 New max streetlites for X1 3 ecocities for 21a That would then leave 9 solo's and 5 pulsar's to replace the 1997-2000 older MPDs and SLFs. Meaning 3 pulsar's could work 75/76, 2 spare for depot use or otherwise exchange..... I presume the 1/5 will keep all their pulsar pvr of 10. Service 8/8a could work 2005 MPDs or a mixture of what's left from ecocities & solo's. Guess they would be short of solo's for town services if they were to dispose of all the older MPDs.That's where the Durham park & ride's slot in ! Will they have a spare bus in max livery for multi use on all xpress routes? RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Jimmi - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 8:10 pm)buznut So about Darlo's future changes! Darlington are loosing all MPDs, they are getting 5 Solos from Durham as the 23 will be getting new Streetlites and the Park and Ride Solos, I think they are getting Darts 1305-8 from Redcar as well. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - busman101 - 01 Aug 2014 (30 Jul 2014, 9:09 pm)Andreos Constantopolous Since when? I used to love the Bod too and the discussion pages - one of the worst things Facebook ever did was get rid of them as you could have some really sensible conversations........... RE: Arriva North East - Latest - busman101 - 01 Aug 2014 (30 Jul 2014, 9:38 pm)aureolin Reckon it's more of a partnership than free advertising. Their logos are plastered all over several buses driving round the NE all day, but yeah... Win win situation definitely. We need a like button on here as I'd be right up for getting Charlotte from Geordie Shore to do some next stop action #tashingon RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Andreos1 - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 7:56 pm)peter Arriva have posted details of the service changes they are making to the 85, 685 and X85 from the 31st of August on their website: Would have thought the 17.10 would be busy, with it being peak time. (01 Aug 2014, 9:40 pm)busman101 I used to love the Bod too and the discussion pages - one of the worst things Facebook ever did was get rid of them as you could have some really sensible conversations........... Obviously with it being fb, everyone knew who everyone was. There wasn't a mask of anonymity to hide behind. The discussions were certainly enlightening - a certain fella in a little village off the a1 in Northumberland made the FPF campaign looking tame in comparison! Re: RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Dan - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 9:45 pm)Andreos Constantopolous Would have thought the 17.10 would be busy, with it being peak time. That the one I mentioned a few days ago? Could have sworn it was 17:20 but may have been 16:20. Tyndalexpress departs 5 mins in front of it, leaving Arriva's X85 to carry fresh air. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Kuyoyo - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 9:47 pm)Dan That the one I mentioned a few days ago? Could have sworn it was 17:20 but may have been 16:20. 1720 X85 remains (with a new 1620) while the 1710 85 is getting the chop. Re: RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Dan - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 9:48 pm)Kuyoyo 1720 X85 remains (with a new 1620) while the 1710 85 is getting the chop.More passengers for GNE then! RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Kuyoyo - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 9:50 pm)Dan More passengers for GNE then! Or Arriva have realised their mistake of having a 85 ten minutes in-front of the 'original' X85 and drop it so their loyal passengers aren't split between the 2 service. Also frees up the vehicle that presently does the 85 to work another peak time run Re: RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Dan - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 9:55 pm)Kuyoyo Or Arriva have realised their mistake of having a 85 ten minutes in-front of the 'original' X85 and drop it so their loyal passengers aren't split between the 2 service.Hey, whatever floats their boat. If I see a GNE X85 pulled in at Eldon Square with free Wi-Fi, comfier seats and the option to buy a cheaper ticket if I have onward connections in Hexham to other GNE buses... I'm not going to wait an extra five minutes to get on the Arriva service! Will be interesting to see what happens to the passenger numbers on that 1720 service - anything's better than the loss-making 3 passengers I saw not so long ago... RE: Arriva North East - Latest - L469 YVK - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 9:59 pm)Dan Hey, whatever floats their boat. Do you guy's think Arriva will allow GNE to purchase their 85/X85 and 685 if GNE made a good offer? RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Kuyoyo - 01 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 10:42 pm)DaveyBowyer Do you guy's think Arriva will allow GNE to purchase their 85/X85 and 685 if GNE made a good offer? No, otherwise they would have not swapped the 604 and 685 round in 2010 as part of the Hexham/Ashington depot swap deal. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - citaro5284 - 02 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 10:42 pm)DaveyBowyer Do you guy's think Arriva will allow GNE to purchase their 85/X85 and 685 if GNE made a good offer? Yes Re: RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Dan - 02 Aug 2014 (01 Aug 2014, 10:42 pm)DaveyBowyer Do you guy's think Arriva will allow GNE to purchase their 85/X85 and 685 if GNE made a good offer?Like citaro5284, I also think they would. Only awkward part would be due to Stagecoach having a share of the service. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - tyresmoke - 02 Aug 2014 (02 Aug 2014, 7:09 am)Dan Like citaro5284, I also think they would. I would suggest anything is for sale at the right price... Whether it's a price the buyer is willing to pay is another matter RE: Arriva North East - Latest - mb134 - 02 Aug 2014 Any reason why some of the new E400's have real time information but other's don't? RE: Arriva North East - Latest - G-CPTN - 02 Aug 2014 The problem with the 685 for GNE would be running beyond Hexham with no support (which, to be fair is also a problem for Arriva). In some ways it would be easier for GNE having a depot at Hexham, but they would need space for the extra vehicles (though maybe they would reduce the frequency from 3 per hour between Hexham and Newcastle - including X84/X85 - back to two per hour with one per hour running to/from Carlisle) - ie just run the '685' between Hexham and Carlisle. More likely that Stagecoach would operate 685 (only between Carlisle and Hexham)? |
