For some reason, its destination read "Hexham" in large lettering, on its return journey. I spotted it on the A69 yesterday.

When it arrived I tried to have a quick chat with the driver but he just shut the doors on me and started talking under his breath.
He couldn't tell the difference between a Dart or a E300

One from the local rag.
Local bus/coach firm Stacey's Coaches has closed for good following the devastating flooding caused by Storm Desmond in December 2015.
The HQ they had is a few hundred metres from Stagecoach's Willowholme depot; this was damaged by the floods too (all the buses were moved into Carlisle City Centre).

Quite fond memories of Stacey's - they used to operate the 185 from Haltwhistle to Carlisle using small Mercedes-Benz minibuses. Used to travel on it a lot!

That would be the Hexham terminating blind.

(01 Apr 2016, 4:16 pm)GX03 SVC That would be the Hexham terminating blind.

But it wouldn't have been terminating at Hexham - it would have been heading back to Brampton for Carlisle? Probably just a case of the driver selecting the wrong variant but hey ho!

What bus is that?

A Cumbria and North Lancashire Enviro 300, The Stagecoach 685s are run by Carlisle depot.
Though I believe this said E300 is a Maryport example though I may be wrong.

Was it a recent transfer? I thought all 61 reg E300s transfered out when the two 64 Reg E300s came.

22761 is a MANviro not an E300. Recent transfer from Oxford

Some transferred down from Oxford and Dunfermline last month to replace B10Ms and ALX300s I think. Overall they have quite a few 22761/3/4, 22873/7/9, 24116/8/9 and 24120/1/2/3/4 which are MAN Enviros and then the two for the 685.

RE: Cumbria & North Lancashire Bus Operations - northern156 - 15 Apr 2016

The recently transferred MANviros are ruddy brilliant. If you ever have the chance I'd recommend one on the 79/179 to Gretna, Annan or Dumfries.

Yes, but they will sound awful due to them being overworked, not recently I had 635 on a 74 and I was nearly deafened by the noise

RE: Cumbria & North Lancashire Bus Operations - Jimmi - 30 May 2016

Not certain if this is the right region thread, if it isn't sorry but I need some help with something...

I photographed the Dalesbus service 830 in Richmond Market Place earlier. I'm uncertain as to whether the bus photographed below should be classed as being with Batterby's Silver Grey or Traveller's Choice? The what must be said rather vague legal address comes back with Traveller's Choice address and Dalesbus claim this service is ran by Traveller's Choice.
