Well, there's two characters in it. It's called 'On The Streets', one is an abandoned old female dog.
Figured both are two subjects that are raised a lot in these situations, and they'd be good to use for the poem.
With a sonnet, the rhyming thingy has to be like ABABCDCD, so for example, the first line rhymes with the third and the second rhymes with the fourth, etc. - so I felt like having two characters would fit in nicely making each line of contrast to the next.
