Had a ride on 9088 this evening between The Galleries and Heworth and I quite like the Versa XFE, quite a comfortable and smooth ride, certainly better than the Metrocity which I quite like and definitely nicer than a Streetlite, I would say it is on an even keel with the E200MMC quality wise but I would still rather have a Citaro.

I think Go North East should refurbish the Mercs on the 4 rather than purchase brand new buses for the service, other services such as the 97 I think would benefit more from new buses as this is one high frequency service they've never invested in.

I would say 97 falls under the guise of little and often. I think it's high frequency but not so much revenue. It's duped massively up bensham bank, duped massively around lobley hill, and only really connects Whickham to Gateshead interchange. And Fellside to the front street. The 6/Ms are quicker to metrocentre, the X30 is quicker to town.

Most 97s are dead beyond peak times, especially in the evening. I can't see a large investment into this route.

Sounds as though it's a bit of a pointless service minus Whickham to Gateshead Interchange and Fellside to the front street, maybe worth axing the 97 and integrate it with the other services which share the same corridor.

Could do, they did that with the 9, 61 and parts of the 88/88A, that seems to be working really well.

They need more cross city services like Sunderland haha

The January sale was intended to attract new customers and grow the weekly ticket market - moving people from day tickets onto weeks and build up more loyalty.

The monthly ticket is already discounted on what it would cost to buy several shorter term tickets.

I understand that, I'm just saying it would have been nice

What I do wish for is a multi operator ticket that covers Tyne and Wear and County Durham, travelling between Gateshead and West Auckland gets fairly expensive fairly quickly! Although Arriva weekly tickets are a lot more reasonably priced than GNE

That is way too cheap for a week. It will have to be in the region of around £50 for adults.

Suspect the adult weekly price would be somewhere around £45 - £50 per week. Even at that price, It'd be really good value for a regionwide multi operator ticket.
