(27 Mar 2019, 2:14 pm)S830OFT The 61 could always interwork with the 57/57A...
That would mess the interworking pattern up with the 56/86 requiring at least one extra bus as a result. Brasside doesn't really justify a high frequency considering the low numbers in passengers, when the 63/64 went up there every 10 minutes it was dead most of the time between Arnison Centre and Brasside.

61 only picks up a small handful of passenger as well.

63 timetable revised from April 7th which will see the Saturday service reduced to a 12 minute frequency (down from 10):

X93 reverts to it's summer timetable running half hourly between Whitby and Scarborough from April 7th to July 19th then again from September 1st until November 3rd, the peak summer timetable which sees buses running up to every 20 minutes between Whitby and Scarborough from July 20th until August 31st: https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/globalassets...l-2019.pdf

Moorsbus resumes from May Day weekend, services are pretty similar to last year except the Darlington operated M3 heads to Malton Rail Station instead of Thornton-le-Dale on a afternoon: http://www.moorsbus.org/timetablesfares.html

DalesBus pretty similar to last year for Arriva except 857 running to Richmond instead of Masham after Leyburn with that stretch being covered by an extended 859 which is Preston Bus operated again this year: https://www.dalesbus.org/timetable.html

(27 Mar 2019, 1:59 pm)Jimmi That would require extra resources though which ain't worth it for how few passengers travel to/from Brasside (62 is a Durham County Council supported route), would also leave nothing for the 61 to interwork with.

Can the extended 62 route and the 61 both be done within the hour? I know it's not much further, but if it picks up more passengers, as a result, that could slow it down, somewhat.

Gets 2 minutes layover at Adventure Valley, return journey to Durham runs 1 minute later than present throughout, this leaves 4 minutes between the 62 arriving and the 61 departing in Durham.

Yeah, there's certain times of day when I can see it being held up in certain places, even if by just a few minutes, and there's not enough slack for it to be able to self correct easily. It's also not as if it wouldn't be missed, if it was regulated, as there may not be many passengers in Brasside or Whitesmocks but for those that it does have, it's their only bus. (And of course, that's a self perpetuating issue because that will be the reason that people don't bother with it. It's certainly one of the reasons we didn't bother looking at houses in Brasside when we moved and the same would have applied to Whitesmocks and the surrounding areas, if we could have afforded a house there!)

Why on earth do they need to close Stokesley Road south of the Marton Manor access?
Ridiculous overkill by the Council.
