There's a Coastliner hybrid on the X10 again today. Good to see the GBF rules being complied with again.

Anything goes at Arriva. It's down to the reliability of the services. On another note though, if the traffic commisioner had a ride on the 43, his face would be more red than a Vicars would be in a brothel. It never keeps to time!

My point wasn't down to reliability at all. Sending a Hybrid up and down the A1 makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, and isn't what they won the funding for.

It is in a way because if the 308 was to get into Blyth late, but another service got there on time and had time to spare, it could then cover for the late 308 and the late 308 would make it onto another service with a couple of minutes spare. It's wrong though that Arriva don't have any fleet planning in place to cover this because if they are constantly being used for that purpose, then the Volvo B5LH'S won't last two minutes. They're only designed for town and city work, not endurance or express work.

Lets not forget they have a spare hybrid so they can have a full runout on 308 and still have one left over to put elsewhere if all 11 are on the road. Of course come March there will no longer be a spare.

Will it now be a full PVR of 11? Will the timetable be increasing?

PVR of 10 up from 9 I believe, there's only 10 B5LHs.

Unless the 308 is getting more layover time in Newcastle and not a timetable increase. If it's the latter or both, then GNE's Volvo B9TL's will have the 308 for dinner!

Timetable change to improve reliability is what I've heard. You know, something the average passenger wants, a bus to turn up on time regardless of any extras.

I agree with you there but, with a timetable change, the time difference will be marginal between the 308 and the 309 unless some idiot trys and uses the bus link at Cobalt near Santander. And with a marginal time difference, comes the extras you get on the 309 too.

And very soon, the philosophy that the 308 stays on the Coast Road, does 50 and goes faster will soon vanish and, with GNE, you only have to buy an internal ticket to get to the Metrocentre without folking out any extra on fares.

Durham Dart 1313 appeared on service X1/X2 today presumably as a breakdown replacement.

One from Tuesday was Stockton Cadet 1906 on service 5A.

Mini Darts have become fairly regular on short service 17 duties in Middlesbrough recently for some reason.
Whitby have been getting shafted by Redcar yet again with 1743 being on X93 a few days this week plus 1739 and 1638 have been reported on service 5!!

Prestige 4006 is making an unusual appearance on 5Bs this evening for possibly the final time prior to the changes next weekend.

Whitby also provided treats on the 5 - reserve MPDs 1737/9!
