Not North East!
I'd love it if we were to have something so non-standard in the North East fleet...

This is only a brief bit of information that I can share but anyone wanting photos or rides on Stockton's Volvo Olympians, I suggest you make the trip to find them before the end of this month....and that is all I can say on the matter.

Temporary closure of the Fawcett Street/ Holmeside junction, affecting all services.
On Sunday 24 March 2013, the busy road junction at Fawcett Street/ Borough Road/ Holmeside will have to be temporarily closed to allow for remedial carriageway works and the removal of the traffic islands.

We don't want them to go either, but sadly we knew this day would come Sad Only advanage to the change is that there's the chance we'll be able to have double deckers cover every inch of our network once again for the first time in 9 years (since the 37 was extended to James Cook Hospital from Park End, the Olympians have been unable to cover that section due to their height).

Given I've since had further news regarding the Olympians, I can reveal the full details.

From next week, Dennis Trident/Alexander ALX400 17025-34 (currently based at Hull) will be transferring northwards to Stockton to replace 16831-40. All 10 are expected to be here by the end of the School Easter Holidays. As such, Stockton depot will finally become fully low floor within the next 2 months.

27509 is now carrying its new full Metrocentre livery. Actually quite like it now I see the design on the vehicle - although still think it looks like its chewing a wasp! Refreshing anyhow.

Very refreshing. I still can't help but think the blue front curve should continue on top of the navy skirt. That skirt ends too abruptly and looks totally out of place. The seats have been re-padded though, and are slightly more comfortable than before.

The entirety of the dark blue skirt is clear of branding and if you can remember how badly damaged they like to get thus needing replaced, you can see why they have saved the branding. Maintaining the old brand professional looking was a chore for Stagecoach - constantly replacing vinyls and stickers due to bumps, scrapes and the weather! So I say its tactical!

They may be nice looking, but they still sound rather dodgy! I think all have engine cooling issues. Still great buses to ride on.

Was pictured in Walkergate today after it broke once it arrived......
Extensive trials, which it will see service on all decker routes (one route per week has been suggested) starting tomorrow, think it is here for about 2 months. "May" also have a period at Slatyford.
