I personally don't think the last three batches of Enviros are comfortable to ride compared to the quality of the ride on say the new Green Angel buses that GNE have purchased.

(02 Dec 2013, 6:09 am)ADLEnviro As from today Newcastle services 62,63 and X63 will use buses that were fitted with wifi a few weeks ago. Slatyford Enviro 400s and Walkergate based 19670 to 19682 have been given appropriate lettering last night and the modems were switched on. It should also be noted that due to 10000 not having this feature fitted it will swap to service 38 from today and will now run in trial with 19683, the only one af that batch that is also not fitted with wifi.

Another development will be made public on Thursday and more will be posted then.

Excellent. Been been waiting for them to get round to it. Orange stickers should be located above the door for those looking out for them. Added bonus the 62/63, as X63 was only quoted - fitted plugs were also announced specifically for X63 too - whether or not this is on hold for now or 'this' development...

South Shields 27737 was seen passing through Whitburn village whilst being towed by an Alpha Recovery truck at around 5:10PM. Not sure if it broke down whilst travelling to Sunderland or returning to South Shields.

There did not appear to be any damage to the vehicle, hence why I assume it was not being towed due to an accident.

I do hope that Stagecoach get round to installing wifi on the Enviro 400's used on the X34.

Journey times between Newcastle Pilgrim Street and Horsley Hill take around an hour (when traffic is light), hence I feel that the installation of wifi would be justified for this service Smile.

Here is the email i was on about earlier from Stagecoach:

Good morning Michael,

Thank you for your email.

The vehicles require specialist equipment to be installed at the depot to allow efficient fuelling and this will commence in early 2014.

Once this is completed the vehicles will subsequently enter service.

The first vehicles are scheduled to be deployed on services 16 and 20, with the remainder arriving later in the year to be deployed on services 3 and 13.

Thank you for contacting Stagecoach North East,

Regards
