New service X11
New service X11
(29 Apr 2021, 8:34 am)streetdeckfan Looks like the X11 will no longer be operated by 6377, but will now be operated by one of the X9/X10 coaches.Maybe it's because 6377 didn't run last Sunday and they have a spare X Lines Coach on a Sunday. Tbh it seems a better option in my opinion. It gives people a luxury trip down to Scarborough or Whitby. It can hold more people that 6377 can and it makes sense now

I thought the reason for using 6377 over a coach was for the additional capacity, although if they're going to be running a duplicate anyway, it makes more sense to run the coaches which will presumably be more fuel efficient

Plus it has an onboard Toilet.
I think go North East hit a really good thing with this X11 if last weekend 6377 was full at Washington and now they have decided to put one of there brand new coaches on. They really did something mad here with a new holiday service. Question is wonder how full this service will be when it runs daily

(25 Apr 2021, 11:53 am)Storx Thank you, had a feeling that would've been the approach. Believe it's how trains and airlines (bar they're 3's) are currently doing it with reservations.Flown recently, can confirm that airlines are not operating seat gaps or anything such like. I travelled on my own and only by luck did I have a gap in between myself and the person sat in my row.

Even with the X Lines Coach now. 7154 had to be duplicate by 6377 at Heworth. Goes to show how popular this service is getting

(01 May 2021, 10:57 pm)streetdeckfan So really nowt's changed? All they've done is put the coach in front of the StreetDeck and called it an upgrade. Not really. Maybe tbh they thought the coach would have done the job. But guess not. At least its doing well
Good thing it's continuing to be busy though!

(02 May 2021, 5:04 am)Dan God, such cynicism. I thought we’d got over that in this thread.
Yes, something has changed. The coach is now the preferred output meaning that most passengers now benefit from a toilet on-board and better comfort: yes this comes at the detriment of the X9/X10 but 7156 has now entered service and Riverside still retain two Levantes as spares, so a coach should still be allocated, just of a slightly lesser specification (no next stop AV).
Beyond this weekend, it’s unlikely that a duplicate will be required in my opinion. There’s been an initial burst of people wishing to use the service, including a small number of enthusiasts, and now the novelty is beginning to wear off, I think we’ll now settle down into more normal passenger number levels, which is effectively a full (in social distancing terms) coach.

(17 May 2021, 9:59 am)JP6004 Has 7157 got a loo? If so could this be used on X11 instead of taking coach from X9/X10Tbh using one of the X Lines X9 coach's is better. Reason being it is more comfortable, has charging ports and WiFi

We don't know what spec 7157 is, although it does seem to have gone all quiet regarding that vehicle.
(17 May 2021, 8:19 pm)GNE6312 A elite I would be better used than 7157 as 7157 has less seats than an elite I as B9Rs are normally 48 or 49 seater so that will be 7157s capacity which is substantially less than an interdeck.Tbf, that may just about just about suffice on the X11 now the rules on social distancing on buses has been eased.

Bad enough the Elite's being missing from the X9/X10 on a Saturday but is this likely to still be the case come the end of the month when X11 becomes daily?
7128 would possibly be another suitable option for the X11?

Also what will be required back on the NX contracts when they return next month?

(18 May 2021, 3:57 pm)streetdeckfan But 7157 isn't PSVAR complaint is it? So therefore couldn't be used on any of GNE's services anyway?
