Oh well, that isn't bad, wonder how many are due.
There shouldn't be many old deckers left in the fleet for Go North East to replace.
Once again on my phone, so can't have a look.

The 680 does, currently allocated a Scania.
06 Oct 2017, 7:30 pm
When will the Scania's start to leave Hexham?
06 Oct 2017, 7:38 pm
They already have started to leave Hexham.
4942/43 were the first to transfer
5210 has now transferred to Riverside
5229 has now left Hexham - still at Saltmeadows Road at the moment having been repainted into fleet livery.

Thanks, are you able to confirm where will 5229-32 end up?

I'm sorry if it's already been asked but what are 618 and 619 allocated to at Hexham on Saturdays?
I know the Solos are allocated as following:
680S: 635 or 636
185/681/X81: 667
74: 668
683/684: 669
686: 670/671
688: Spare bus?
I would imagine that the 689 is operated by Stanley on Saturdays as it does not interwork with service 686?
Does anyone have correct allocations for Tynedale Links services?

New buses or cascades from the Angel?, if its's the Hybrids from the Angel, no buses have arrived to replace the Hybrids, so they can't move to Percy Main.

Indeed. Remove the 'yet' and the post becomes much clearer.

Hybrids on the Coaster? That'll be interesting if it proves to be the case!

Thought an increased capacity on the 50 would be more beneficial than the coaster

From my experiences of the 50 at least, I don't think anything bigger than single deckers is needed on the 50 most of the time, about the busiest I see the 50 is around the Washington area particularly Galleries - Lambton which is usually just short hoppers catching the first bus that turns up.
Not sure on the 1 myself as it's not a route I regularly see or use but I could imagine that one being busy at times, especially on a hot summer's day.
My thing with this though, I can't see Go North East wanting to upgrade any single decker routes to double deck operation unless they feel it's absolutely necessary and even then I think it could come at a cost of a frequency decrease, that's why I was always thought that the hybrids wouldn't go on the 27.

If that happens, i would think all the Omnicities at Percy Main, would remain, replacing the Scania's and Wright Eclipse's meaning Depot Standardisation can take place.
The Scania/Eclipses would replace older ones in the fleet.

Same but where would the Hybrids go when the Angel gets an upgrade?, they could stay at Chester for the 13/14/X25 but then there would be 5 spare, i don't even think they would need deckers.
Only other routes i could see getting them are the
Coaster
Toonlink (still they would need 18 so would be a mixed allocation)
Red Arrow - but would be the same age of the B9's (expect for 6001-6007 which are a year older)

The loadings on the 1 are really varied - but morning and evenings peaks are often very busy. But is often dependent on where the 11 is (in front or behind)
I don’t think there are many other services they could go on - doubt they would go on the 5/50 or the Stanley services. I did think Crusader but with the Mercs being refurbed no chance of that

Same for people heading to shields on a summers day.
07 Oct 2017, 5:39 pm
With the 50 it tends to be busier between Durham and Washington than the latter part of the route, same with the 1 it tends to be busier between Wrekenton and Newcastle than again the latter part of the route, unless of course it is a nice summers day whereby the services are rammed. For me with these services much like the Red Kite & Toon Link I think it would be better to have a split allocation of double/single deckers, placing the deckers on the peak time boards when it is likely to be busier.

That's true, although I don't think it's quite busy enough when it's not really hot to justify double deckers and let's face it, this is Britain, we could possibly only have about 10 really hot days in a year.
I'm struggling to think of anything other than the Coaster where they could be displaced to (providing they do come off the 21), really of the services that are already double deck operated, it would probably have to be something like maybe be a split between Chester-le-Street and Stanley depots for stuff like Toon Links, 15/15A, 13/X25 and 14/X22 although excluding the 15/15A all those services seem to be a mix of singles and double deckers and most other double decker routes have relatively modern stock (56, 309/310, X1).
