Seat capacity is more in these new Enviro 200 MMCs - at 43 (41 in the Enviro 300).

Length wise they are the same at 11.8m.

Why did they remove the 300 model and combine it with the 200?

In my mind, the longer versions are still the 300 and I've made the mistake of calling them that on here a few times.

It's like getting rid of the 400 and calling that a 200 too.

The various numbers gave the different types and identity.

It was to simplify their product range, simply offering different sized E200s.

Don’t think they were TWOC. The 32 came first as a Sunday
only Sunderland Busways service, then operated daily on a revised route.  Then 31 was introduced with 31 & 32 both being
jointly operated by Busways and Northern.
This was all before Busways took over TWOC.  The 32 was withdrawn and the 31 later became
a Favourite service.  The revised route
via Royal Hospital was in May 2001, the last change before the service was
killed off entirely.

Don’t recall northern running these any pics? 31 was deffo twoc prior to favourite.
What was the full routes

All Busways minibus services became Tyne and Wear omnibus company when there were bought out, originally before the 32 came onto the scene the 31 was axed between Sunderland and Seaburn Camp section and replaced by new service 17 which lasted quite awhile until stagecoach axed all minibus operations when there streamlined there services

It was the 32 that went to Seaburn (Sundays only) before the 31 came on
the scene, I believe?  The 31 first appeared as that joint service in
1988 whereas the 32 started back in 1987.  When the 32 went daily, the
section north of the river was withdrawn though the 17 had already been
in operation for some months before that.  The 17 and 25 seem to have
swapped terminals back and forth at the north end too, switching between
South Bents and Seaburn between them.

17 started 23-03-87 (CBS to Seaburn)

31 started 11-04-88

32 started 18-07-87 (Sundays, Doxford Park - Seaburn) then 11-12-87 (Doxford Park - CBS)

Interestingly I found reference
to a Service 8 which was to operate

from Central Bus Station to Ferryboat Lane via Hylton Castle Road but appears to have only lasted a metter of weeks in the summer of 1988 - does anyone recall this one?

I've often wondered how they chose the service numbers beyond those that were direct changes from 102 ->2 etc.  So for example, why make a 32 but no 30, or 31 at the time.  And why the 9 was never used until the South Hylton service in Stagecoach days etc.

Busways initially operated a 17 that became 17A/17B then back to 17.  The good old days with a proper network of services instead of a few high frequency routes and little else.

Stagecoach in Hull are starting get new enviro 200MMCs so is Stockton in line for new enviro MMCs soon.

Can you remember service 26 from town end farm areas to Seaburn only used to run Sundays only on the summer months and during one year Busways put on a service 26 from Sunderland to Seaburn camp then the summer Sunday service 26 got renumbered to a 36

There used to be 109 in pte days but it was never put into single number due to the extension of the 537 from Boldon to Sunderland via A19 and Hylton road

That was a much later incarnation - there were three different 26's operated by Sunderland Busways at different times.  The one from St Peters to The Forge was the last of the three and started in August 1994.
