Was pleased to find JH Coaches Scania K410EB6 / Ayats Eclipse in all of it's Golden Glory parked in Newcastle Coach Park this afternoon. https://www.flickr.com/photos/gjm-photog...ateposted/
Does anyone know anything about what appears to be a shuttle service operating off Rainton Bridge?

Seen it a few times and usually a Merc minibus of some sort. Heads off eastbound towards the A19. Doxford Park perhaps?

JH Coaches have served notice to cancel about 40 of their Nexus school services from 20th July. They have also indicated that they will cancel their Nexus 23 & 90 services from 22nd July.

I take it there is a possibility to gain new contracts?

They always seem to be one of the better operators, compared to operators like Nightingale who have had multiple services terminated.

There's over 90 Miscellaneous Works boards to be awarded next month - majority are double-deck, but there are some single-deck boards too. The 23 is up for renewal in July - both JH Coaches and Gateshead Central Taxis have lost their boards on this.

I'd expect JH Coaches, Kingsley's and Stanley Travel to take a fair few of those Misc. Wks boards, but quite likely Go North East will inherit quite a few of them back again. I don't think we'll see Nightingales putting in for them this year.

Yeah haha, didn't seem a very good showing by Nightingale.

Who won the 23 like?

Isn't it just that they're all up for re-tender anyway?

I heard Nexus don't want two operators on the 23.

Yes, they are all up for retender and, based on previous years, even if JH win all the work back Nexus will likely give them different routes.

With the recent changes to the registration procedure for bus services, it’s now more difficult to do short notice changes so I guess that’s why JH have started early.
Its the Northumberland Plate tomorrow at Gosforth Racecourse. Jim Hughes have the contract for the free shuttle from Regent Centre. Great chance to see some of their dockers in action. Should be busy with sixteen thousand race goers expected.
