Why are all launches during the working week rather than on weekends? Slightly annoying...

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015 - LeeCalder - 22 Apr 2015

I've just spoke to Go North East Customer Services about the Lime (I refuse to call it Coast and Country) launch...

They are looking into it because "obviously the kids are at school" and also there will apparently be a bus at the launch

I've moaned about the same thing with Arriva's various "Sapphire" and "MAX" launches in the past... I can't recall the last non-weekday Arriva publicity event - unless someone can jog my memory?

There's quite often a correlation between the day/time a publicity event takes place and how busy the location tends to be. The X66 launch was held on a Saturday, as the Metrocentre tends to be busier on Saturdays than weekdays. I'm led to believe the market at Chester-le-Street is busier on a Friday than a Saturday, which is presumably why Go North East has opted for the Friday event at this location.

Would Sunderland not be better for a Saturday then. Can't see there being as busy during the week. I just want to get to a launch as i've always wanted to get to one but the launches have always been out of bounds for me.

Was there a real need for speaking to Customer Services about a publicity launch?!?!

Just seems a bit OTT to me. Hell, it's not as if you're not going to see the buses in the next few weeks or so is it?

The 25% off promotion has been ongoing for years at Beamish. It wasn't just on for the celebration day. If you travel by waggonway you will see the adverts promoting and also is or was on the GNE and beamish website

What will happen to the 309 / 310 when the new junction work starts at Formica / Coast Road junction this summer? I know that the delays will be terrible particularly around peak times and Christmas.

Green Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid 5404 (NK15 ENT) was delivered to Go North East this morning. No sign of 5396 (NK15 ENH) just yet.

Judging by the fact that gne is having the fun day over the next 2 weekends, i think the buses should enter service after 4th may.

Just seen one of the new Green Streetlites in full livery heading through Consett, looks fantastic.

Also a Loyne has broken down near Marley hill ... Think it was heading towards Newcastle on a X70/X71

A few of Chesters lime renowns were exactly the same at one point. 4852 was probably the worst (sorry Marcus!) for it although they did lose this feature later on.

Hear them before you see them! Some of the best sounds I can associate with a bus, don't know if it is just me, but 4853-55 seem much better these days.
