GoVenturing: Get professional with corporate styling and embrace integrated transport policy for the North East - Higher Quality and Cheaper fares across the Network - GNE is NOT Working!

It might not be intresting but its better than the same stuff over and over!

If you don't like it go else where.

Why are we moving on exactly?

The above posts were relevant to one of Go North East's videos which Andreos1 posted the link to - it was perfectly on-topic...

Backseat moderating isn't needed on this forum, Venturego. We have a good team of official forum mods for that purpose already! Wink

First of all, when adding an exclamation mark, please add it directly behind the word in front of it rather than a space on - it's irritating to my eyes. Could you provide a list of these ''anoraks''? I know of a few but would like to see yours. As for ''GoVenturing''. No. Grow up.

''Anoraks'' are generally the stereotypical train spotters who stand on platform edges, jotting down train numbers, and sheltering under anoraks during the harshness of the entire day they will spend there. Same applies for buses, take Haymarket/Eldon Square. There is alway an anorak floating around.

Yes, it's a fairly recent addition to the website.

The Sunderland tab has also gained a new network map - similar to what Stagecoach produces. These network maps were handed out at the recent "See it, Do it, Sunderland" launch at Barnes Park.

Those maps are quite good. Better than the schematics you got in the leaflets.

Though one nit pick with the Peterlee one is that it suggests all X10 journies operate via the bus station in Peterlee.

I think the schematics presented in timetables are more than adequate for buses which follow the same route with little deviation, but I agree, the area map for Peterlee does look good.

I may have picked up on at least one error though, although I don't regularly use the service, I'm sure service 265 went via Low Moorsley the last time I did. Has the route changed?

It still goes via Low Moorsley as it traverses between Hetton and Pittington.

It (or its predessessors) hasn't touched Easington Lane for years. Not sure if it has ever gone down Elemore Lane at all.

In other news, I saw two red GNE vehicles a couple of days ago near Wansbeck Hospital, both looked like Renowns, I presume these have been refurbished at Thorntons?

Those Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renowns would have been 4898 (V988 ETN) and 4900 (V990 ETN) - the latest examples to have gone to Thorntons for DDA modifications.

15 years later and they're still one of the best buses in the GNE fleet (expect the duel door ones)

If the  FAB 57 doesn't get better buses this year, Les Pigg on Facebook will rage, always on complaining about the duel door B10's haha.

Not a great deal has to be changed on them to make them DDA-compliant, so pretty easy to get them done and dusted quite quickly.

Obviously a couple of extra buses being retained in the fleet for now means that Riverside can have three buses away at a time.

I would imagine that will happen for Deptford's B10's to?, when they go away to be modded.

The way they're going atm, all of them could be done before end of September.
