I hope they do in the future, all new buses - should be fitted with WIFI + stop announcements (think GNE said something about this a while back)

Looks canny

And its got WIFI

Also the 687 timetable has being uploaded and its just yellow.

the new 71 timetable has yet to be uploaded..

That actually looks quite modern - which is unusual when looking back at GNE's recent rebrands/new brands

It does, compared to some

Wonder if the X84/X85 is popular they will extend it to do more runs on a Sunday and maybe even a little later?

Any body know why GNE haven't uploaded the new 71 timetable yet?

Strange.. Variation? The M1 becoming the 4? And Houton.. Really? And I doubt it's a new service other wise it would be registration not a variation.

I never noticed that, strange, unless this was reg before the M1 was launched?

Could be M4/W4 to fit in with the current service numbers for Heworth/Washington routes? It currently goes M1, M2/M2A and M3/M3A, then W5 and W6 - just a suggestion though.
I'm only saying it, because the precision of the registration isn't exactly great - unless "Houghton" has been renamed recently Tongue

That's odd, don't understand why they'd re-number though, unless GNE are planning on de-lettering services so it's just a Number minus the Xpress Services

so for example

M2 - 2
M3 - 3
M1 - 4
W5 - 5
W6 - 6

Um they could be but then there's the Washington ones plus the venture network and a few NexusBus services.

they could be going back to 3 Digit Numbering on more services to make more standardised so people won't get confused.

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 28 Aug 2013

We will have to wait and see the post about the changes but it is interesting to see what happens.

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 28 Aug 2013

Can i suggested this is a new service or has VOSA done it wrong?

If new service - Solo SR? haha

RE: Go North East - Latest - Malarkey - 28 Aug 2013

Just out of curiosity when does the Contract for the 79 run out with compass community transport, could it be possible that GNE are taking this over again with the extension to Heworth. Just a thought

(28 Aug 2013, 11:50 am)gtomlinson wrote Very limited Sunday service as expected (2 runs each way) as we've obviously not got commuter traffic
Isn't the existing 684 timetable basically just the depot runs/ relief driver for the 74? If so, then no wifi on Sundays, or else it could get a bit tasty at Cheeseburn Bridge.

RE: Go North East - Latest - CatsFast101 - 28 Aug 2013

Rob or Citaro5284 can you give any hints about what this '4' is all about? Or are you just going to sit there teasing?

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 28 Aug 2013

new timetable has being uploaded for the 71 just a B10 and still Northern, like we knew.

South Tyne 5 has its new timetable to

RE: Go North East - Latest - BJ10VUS - 28 Aug 2013

RE: Go North East - Latest - stagecoachbusdepot - 28 Aug 2013

New leaflets for 74/74A, 686 & 689 now online all dated 8 September 2013. Also new style clippings for H11, H53, 683 but no indication of which leaflet they’ll appear in (appears not to be a combined one with 74 etc now). 688 remains in the old style, as does the 60.

Link to the new (Sept) timetable for the 5 takes you to the 28 July timetable...

I don't understand why they don't have them uploaded in leaflet form for all services for things like TyneDale Links. Have a TyneDale Links leaflet 74/74A/683/686/687/688 including TyneDale Express X84/X85 (with TyneDale Express in a standalone leaflet also). A venture network one V1/V2/V3/V4/V5/V6/V8/V9/130/131/704/689. Have all the lime services together 8/78/78A alongside the V8. Have the 60/61 together in a drifter leaflet. And the South Tyne services 5/88/88A.

Sorry to spoil the party BUT.........

This new service 4 isn't a new service its what we know as the M1.
If you do a deeper search on Traffic area network you will discover that the M1 was cancelled from 13th June 2010 and a new service 4 was registered from then, not sure that the TC, GNE, Nexus ect realised that they had registered the service as a 4 not an M1. I've known about this for a couple of years and have pointed it out once to GNE with little interest in return, now its gone more public through this site it might get sorted. Either the person that registered the service and is doing the variations isn't paying attention to detail or the TCs are not. Hope its a TC error as its a canny fine if its not.

Pretty big mistake. Not even like it was something like N1 instead of M1. Well, even if there isn't a new service, something is happening in October that we can look for in Washington.

RE: Go North East - Latest - JakeSavage - 29 Aug 2013

Rather bizarrely, the number of a service isn't a registered particular and doesn't need to be shown. Thus, it could equally be called 'Fred's bus' in registration terms, albeit rather unhelpfully to customers.

The destination point of a service, however, must be shown on the blind.
