Did everyone remember to put the clocks back last night, I didn't when I got up this morning I glanced at my alarm clock and it said 9:50 when it was actually 8:50. Then walking around Darlington for an hour with my watch an hour fast.
I am aware it is 2014 and I still have an alarm clock and a watch. I have just wound my watch from the 8th to the 26th from when my battery died, my wrist hurts.

I've just had three 15-16 year olds come to my door and say 'Trick or Treat'. I shut the door in their face for numerous reasons, but mainly because they had rested their bikes up against my dad's Audi A6, they were far too old to be trick or treating - and it's not even the 31st!

I went when I was about 4 up until 7, then I got a bit sick of going out in the freezing cold to knock on doors that weren't going to be opened by half the people on my estate!
You'd be amazed at how many people do trick or treat on our estate though, just because people think it's a nice estate - people assume everyone who lives in it has crates of sweets to dish out.
I normally take over the role of the innkeeper for Halloween these days: at 14, I am a retired trick or treatist. I always ask if they live on the estate, and if they don't, I shut the door. My neighbours would do so to, it's just complete beggary!

Despite my overall dislike of the event, I must admit I always enjoyed the Halloween discos. The valentines discos were crap, though. I remember when I was about 5 (must have been in reception, tbh) I went to the valentines one with a few friends I had made so far in the year. Key Stage 1 would get their food first, then Key Stage 2. I remember eating my hot dog in the Year 2 classroom (or Infant 4 as it was known back then) and one of the mothers who the school would recruit into helping out came in and told me to go because the older kids needed to eat in a few minutes. When I told her my mam had told me not to rush my food (as ya do!) she snapped and yelled at me. Shouting at a 5 year old can only end badly....as she found out when I told my mam. What made it worse for her, and your not gonna believe this, she was our next door neighbour!
My mam had a right go at her about it, mind. I was standing there watching her shout it out (way past bedtime
) about how her older son was constantly bullying me, and how he once picked me up and threatened to throw me down a drain (he was seriously that bad), and once tried to pick me up and throw me in a skip for asking him why it was on our drive!

They'd just make us draw something spooky. My school had no money, we'd never get trips to somewhere exciting, I went to Beamish three times, I liked it the first time and the second time was okay but the third time was boring and it was pouring with rain. We also went to Wet n' Wild at North Shields twice and also saw one of the Twilight films at the cinema, don't know who picked that as non of us wanted to see it.

Oh shit, I forgot about bonfire night! My puppy is only 10 months, and as we live near Lumley Castle, where lots of fireworks go off to celebrate weddings, etc, the odd firework goes off. My mam (being my mam) said he could have the entire conservatory as 'his room', and once we got it fully insulated and refurbished (just for him) he has started to sleep in there, and he is so comfy he sometimes doesn't want to get out his crate on a morning!
When that occasional firework does go off, you'd think it was a firebomb! He goes absolutely crackers!! It's worse when it goes off at 22:00, and he goes 'pee pees' at 21:00, it really disturb his nights sleep!

At primary school they used to have those big light boxes at the front, and then just bellowed the room full of smoke and had the strobe on far too much (wouldn't get away with it these days!).

One problem I faced when photographing at Durham earlier on was the fact that the sun was going in and out on it's own terms, so one photo would look decent enough to upload, then the next I couldn't even identify it!

A combo I really love in photographs is dark threatening skies behind the subject (ie bus/train/whatever), with beaming sunlight behind the photographer. Quite rare to get that combo though - but the colours tend to come out lovely.
