Surely meeting the members expectations in terms of a pay rise is more affordable than losing their workforce support against Quality Contracts. Anyone know how Stagecoach pay per hour compares with Arriva and GNE? Last time I heard GNE was between £8 & £9 per hour depending on depot but may have gone up since then. I hear Weardale hourly service bus rate is going up from £7 (for last 5+ years) to £7.25 per hour (and nowt extra for overtime). RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - Andreos1 - 01 Feb 2014 100 was running in three's just now coming out of the Metrocentre RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - Adrian - 01 Feb 2014 (01 Feb 2014, 1:23 pm)Greg in Weardale wrote Anyone know how Stagecoach pay per hour compares with Arriva and GNE? They don't list it on their website, but someone mentioned on the QCS thread that Stagecoach pay their drivers more than Go North East. If that's true about Weardale then it's a disgrace really. It's not even a living wage. I believe Stagecoach's Tyne and Wear depots are above the £10 per hour threshold, compared to their colleagues at Stockton (£9.20-ish an hour). Busways will be on a fair bit more I believe around £11. I'd always think bus drivers would (or should be on more money). Especially when Metro drivers are on about 40k, and that's arguably with less responsibility than bus drivers. One thing I find quite interesting though is that GMB are saying constant attacks to terms and conditions, whilst Stagecoach are saying the complete opposite. RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - benambro - 01 Feb 2014 Last few days in Teesside have been rather interesting, seeing the Enviro 300's on the 38, i don't whether that's a indication for something or just that they have gotten so unreliable they can't run on the 36!!! As mentioned on here before, due to the on-going roadworks on Newport Road (installing a bus lane), to help reliability, the 36 and 38 are interworking at Park End during the day (after the 0853 36 on weekday until 1430, and from 1130 on Saturdays until 1537). Meaning the E300s are working both 36s and 38s, though at present the allocators are struggling on a morning to remember to allocate the E300s to 38 duties that finish the day as 36s instead of 38s RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - Andreos1 - 01 Feb 2014 (01 Feb 2014, 11:23 am)Michael wrote Bus driver shot at as he drove through Hartlepool Wonder where in Hartlepool that photo was taken? :p RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - tyresmoke - 01 Feb 2014 (01 Feb 2014, 9:46 pm)Kuyoyo wrote As mentioned on here before, due to the on-going roadworks on Newport Road (installing a bus lane), to help reliability, the 36 and 38 are interworking at Park End during the day (after the 0853 36 on weekday until 1430, and from 1130 on Saturdays until 1537). RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - Pimponel - 02 Feb 2014 They were swapped for MAN ALX 300's it was at the time done due to vandalising the seats and windows on the top deck, they are still in operation in Magic Bus livery , think the Man's were the T-MVM ones but could be wrong RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - BJ10VUS - 02 Feb 2014 (01 Feb 2014, 9:58 pm)andreos1 wrote Wonder where in Hartlepool that photo was taken? :p The part of Teesside that Stagecoach in Manchester operate, by the look of it! Last another 3-5 months minimum perhaps/when tax runs out, depending on orders. RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - WestDurhamSwift - 03 Feb 2014 Anyone remember a few years back when a few Newcastle B10m (i think) have a livery for x77/x78, i think it was black with orange, not sure if it was just the one bus or a few others. I liked that livery, if anything it was great, considering they done it to a none easy access bus, especially for stagecoach as well. Dont think they lasted long and were withdrawn later on. Anyone got any photos of what im on about RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - Coastliner700 - 03 Feb 2014 (02 Feb 2014, 2:50 pm)Pimponel wrote They were swapped for MAN ALX 300's it was at the time done due to vandalising the seats and windows on the top deck, they are still in operation in Magic Bus livery , think the Man's were the T-MVM ones but could be wrong There is also one at Stagecoach South at Chichester in Sussex often used on 700 route it's gone I think RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest - Chris - 03 Feb 2014 (01 Feb 2014, 6:14 pm)tyresmoke wrote Stagecoach Teesside when I left were on £9.21/hr main rate, less for part time and probationary. The application pack that I got back in Feb 2012 listed the busways division starting at £8.40 ish and then increasing over 4 years to £10.15 ish. Although I think in the QCS thread someone (ADL?) mentioned top rate at Sunderland was £10.40. Maybe they had a 2.5% increase since Feb 2012? This is based on a 37 week. Interestingly, South Shields was top payer out of the the T&W depots (only by pennies mind) at top rate. GNE list their starting rate at £8.57 for a 39 hr week. I'm not sure what time I'm heading up, but most likely mid-day. I'd have to get a day rover in any case to use GNE and Stagecoach, so I'll probably have an early morning trip through Newcastle first. |
