(01 Feb 2014, 1:23 pm)Greg in Weardale wrote Anyone know how Stagecoach pay per hour compares with Arriva and GNE? Last time I heard GNE was between £8 & £9 per hour depending on depot but may have gone up since then. I hear Weardale hourly service bus rate is going up from £7 (for last 5+ years) to £7.25 per hour (and nowt extra for overtime).
(01 Feb 2014, 5:52 pm)aureolin wrote They don't list it on their website, but someone mentioned on the QCS thread that Stagecoach pay their drivers more than Go North East. If that's true about Weardale then it's a disgrace really. It's not even a living wage.

Busways will be on a fair bit more I believe around £11.

(01 Feb 2014, 9:46 pm)Kuyoyo wrote As mentioned on here before, due to the on-going roadworks on Newport Road (installing a bus lane), to help reliability, the 36 and 38 are interworking at Park End during the day (after the 0853 36 on weekday until 1430, and from 1130 on Saturdays until 1537). Meaning the E300s are working both 36s and 38s, though at present the allocators are struggling on a morning to remember to allocate the E300s to 38 duties that finish the day as 36s instead of 38s

You're invited to our Gas Bus Open Day at Sunderland!
We are very proud to announce the arrival of our brand new gas buses, which will be operating on services in Sunderland very soon!
Make a date to get up close and personal this Valentine's Day!
Pop along to our Sunderland depot at anytime between 11am - 3pm on Friday 14th February. The entrance is on North Bridge Street, next door to the Wheatsheaf pub.
Our team will be on hand to answer questions about the new technology and there will be short rides on a gas bus at 12pm and 1pm...so be one of the first to take a trip!
Please note: There is no parking available on site for the open day but you can get buses straight to the depot. Buses depart Fawcett Street (by Wilkinsons) in Sunderland city centre every few minutes. Hop on a 3, 4, 13 or 16 which all stop close to the main entrance and routes 23, E1 and E6 stop in Dundas Street, close to the rear entrance gates. Click here for timetable details.
We are also between St Peters and Stadium of Light Metro stations.
