I'm not sure how much general awareness there is from the public that these services exist, in that people just assume that they don't run on a Sunday as they don't normally at other parts of the year.
Christmas shopping in Newcastle?
Catch the extra Sunday X24 and X34 trips

Virtually empty until 2pm from Newcastle then busy thereafter

(16 Nov 2022, 8:52 pm)Storx wrote The biggest problem is both very one way with nothing in the opposite direction. So you might have 15 people heading towards Newcastle; there's going to be no-one going in the opposite direction and the opposite later on. There's also very little in between on both aswell. So you won't have many short hop fares. Is that not the case with quite a number of services, though? It's quite common to be busy towards Newcastle in the morning and busy coming out of Newcastle in the afternoon. I suppose the issue would be whether the busy journeys would balance out the cost of the quiet ones, but as I say other services do seem to survive with that kind of similar passenger pattern.
Monday to Friday you have the X24A taking people to Doxford Park and the X34 taking people to work in the Boldon Colliery area.

Was GNE then GCT now SNE after a few years.
Also effective 12th Dec. Pretty quick that. Have GCT given up? Possibly concentrating more on Durham area services as very little South Shields.
