(21 Sep 2013, 12:38 pm)nk55 wrote The B10s on the Lime are solid.
(21 Sep 2013, 1:10 pm)Liam wrote Didn't yesterday's post suggest that the Lime is inline for brand new vehicles early next year? Therefore, the Scania's aren't going to make their way onto the Lime if this order does occur.
(21 Sep 2013, 6:05 pm)pcvdriver wrote Isn't it about time Peterlee depot had something significant happen with the fleet? The buses they have are ran into the ground, they're rattly, unreliable, and above all, they look truly scruffy. The X7s aren't much better, on an express service, wouldn't it make sense for the vehicles used to have high backed seats, as its an hour and a half end to end...
(21 Sep 2013, 8:17 pm)pcvdriver wrote It's not just them, it's the MPDs too..
(21 Sep 2013, 8:24 pm)Daniel wrote We've already had confirmation that the older Dennis MPDs are being withdrawn (up to 540 at least), so you can expect "East Durham" MPDs 501-3, 510, 519/520, 522 and 535-9 to all be withdrawn and replaced with newer Transbus MPD examples.
Other than that, I'm doubtful Peterlee will receive anything further.
The next opportunity for Solars to be freed up will be in January, when "Fab Fifty Six" receives new B9s. It is then when "Wear Tees Xpress" X7 may receive four new(er) Scanias, and the Volvos can go Northern.
(21 Sep 2013, 9:16 pm)pcvdriver wrote Think they should have a total rethink, but what would fit round some of the tighter service routes like the 209 Horden Hall Estate /Alder Road or 208 Holme Hill. The whole brand is looking a bit scruffy and dated, almost like a 1990's local minibus company. It's about time they were brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century!! The reliability must be an issue as dropped services equals lost customer confidence.. The 209's were missing on Wednesday from about 11.30 till about 3pm... No wonder there's so many taxis in Peterlee...
Maybe we should have a whip round for loose change to help GNE do something productive!!!

(22 Sep 2013, 9:10 am)Daniel wrote I don't believe we've noted it on here - we just had the information passed on while they were at (or due to go to) Saltmeadows.

(20 Sep 2013, 6:49 pm)Rob wrote In terms of the additional 15 vehicles which could be arriving next year, details have not been confirmed. What I will say, is that there is 1 route which has had no change for a while, and a lot of you have speculated for a while that it will get upgrades before the Waggonway. That one!
Anything else that needs cleared up?
(22 Sep 2013, 3:09 pm)BJ10VUS wrote Off topic from the above, but I saw an X88 today and it made me think - surely Washington have single deck buses available on a Sunday, so why is a 'Red Arrows' Gemini used?
(22 Sep 2013, 3:17 pm)CatsFast101 wrote I think a red arrows Gemini is the usual X88 allocation for a Sunday. Don't know what the Saturday allocation is? The reasoning for the sunday allocation I'm not sure, newer vehicles? Rather than working the already problematic Cadet into the ground?
(22 Sep 2013, 3:23 pm)BJ10VUS wrote I agree about the Cadet - especially if the 'South Tyne' ones are any example to go by!
The only thing I don't understand is, surely with the 'Metrolink' and 'WSS' being on a reduced frequency, (as well as the 'Red Arrows'), they could use a Wright Solar or Dart MPD?
(22 Sep 2013, 5:48 pm)Michael wrote Wonder if the 13/14 will get the Northern Scania's or the 15/15A
(22 Sep 2013, 5:52 pm)Andreos1 wrote I read (or heard) that the 13/14 are working off an x22.
Whether that is true or not, is another matter...
It will improve the reliability of the 13/14 though - as I feel half the problems that route has, is due to the fact the vehicles never get near Chester.
