Just went past it, it literally says "bus reversing" when it is moving forward.

Got some quotes from the Facebook page about the new Loop branding (not naming any names, don't want to be involved in a petty argument)- some people can't just take what they've been given:

"That looks horrific"

"That looks so s***e it really does"

"For f*** sake"

"It looks so s***"

"The original Black Loop was the best"

"That looks so s*** that does it really does"

All round good comments I see  Big Grin

A definate WTF moment!

The problem relates to when the bus manufacturer has wired the bus up incorrectly - instead of fitting the wire to the reverse signal, it has been fitted to the ignition feed.

The bus reversing sign shouldn't work at Stanley because this wire should not be connected, but because Scania have wired it wrongly, it is shown permanently. Staff at the depot didn't turn on the ignition when updating the destination displays, so didn't notice the problem until the bus went out on the road. 6126 is due to be kept off the road tomorrow morning to be looked at.

It's hardly a regular occurrence, and has happened to about 6 vehicles in total. Less than 1% of the fleet.

Do we know when the final olympians are due to be replaced. Surely the scholars which are ran by them could interwork with normal services so they could be withdrawn

Some of Brighton's new buses are supposed to be due to start arriving next month.

Not sure which service will receive them first but once all here, some more Omnidekka's will come free, i would think GNE would want some more to replace the Lolyne's and Olympian's.... unless, GNE have got enough double deckers on the new order list (for 2016/2017) to replace them all by 1.117.

I think Omnidekka's is the most likely bus to replace them though.

Well they have 24 to replace before then. But thought it would have been more cost effective to have them interwork with normal services instead of going to riverside and back etc

I thought it was only around 18 which needed replaced by 1.1.17, might of got my numbers wrong though, known me, probables.

They should be able to achieve that, if they get the right amount of buses from Brighton - if not NEW buses would have to arrive by 1.1.17... not sure what the time frame is like because as we know, some company's could have orders in already and i'm not sure how orders work once the company receives them.

From Dan's post yesterday in the South East thread -

I understand 03 and 04 plate East Lancs OmniDekka bodied Scania N94UDs are expected to be cascaded as a result. Would expect these to be the examples route-branded for services 48 (628-633) and 50 (601-03/05) as well as the other examples in the YN04 Gxx series batch.

http://www.northeastbuses.co.uk/forum/sh...hp?tid=318&page=8

Nothing is confirmed for the Omnidekka's from Brighton but with GNE getting them before - to me it seems likely they could get more.
