Yes, I had a ride on it this afternoon. From a normal passengers point of view, the bus was alright, wasn't too many rattles and rode reasonably well. The seats in this demonstrator however (shown below) were really uncomfortable, if you get this, sit at the back if possible.

Also in regards to people saying about comparing it to the Solo SR's, this is larger than the Solo SR's, this has a maximum seating capacity of 37, so especially as it's currently being trialled on the 82/82A makes me think that they are looking at potential replacements for the Cadet's/Merit's as they are roughly the same in terms of size.

Thanks for a pic Jimmi, the seats look horrible to sit on.

Hopefully they are looking to replace the Merits soon.

The Streetlite is 9.5m while the latest Solos are 9.25m, And the Demo Streetlite is more compact than the GNE Solo's, Note only 1 wheelchair and more rows of seats instead of tipups and 2 wheelchair bays in the Solo's. Taking the length into account, The length is nearly halfway between a MPD and a Cadet/Merit, So the Demo ( and Solo ) will probably be aimed as both MPD and Cadet Replacements.

They look like bleeding deckchair seats!

Actually look worse than someone's beloved Urban 90s. At least they make up in grippiness and moulding for what they lack in padding (except on ANE's E200s, where they also lack grip and are extra extra hard - the old Lowlander ones are much less uncomfortable.)

They actually are worse than the Urban90's, reminded me of the seats in the Go North East Prestige's around the time they were withdrawn as they used to give me backache due to there being a strip going across the seat and then you end up with a numb backside. Only sat on those seats between Washington Galleries Bus Station and Sainsburys but it was long enough to know I hate them, didn't know how quick to move when the backseat became free!

It's truly bad when the back seat is the desirable one. It's usually the "my ample middle aged arse will not feel welcome there and it's too high anyhow, never mind the engine heat" seat.

Given that the staff shuttle van was parked next to 5422 on this photo, I'm going to suggest that it was on driver familiarisation.

This bus has been doing tours of the City Centre ever since it arrived at Deptford - drivers need to actually drive the bus, given that it's slightly different to the normal Streetlites. That's partly why the launch has been delayed.

The more the launch is delayed, the more Streetlites GNE can try and get out in service when they do start to enter service Tongue.

The more the better i say.

I agree with you and to add to the hard seats they also have leather and are full back height, not just a 'bucket' seat.

I'd rather keep the Merit's to be totally honest, they seem too perform quite well on the 82/82A.

Don't really use the Merits so can't give a proper review on them but it'll get the point where they'll need replacing so GNE will probables be looking at alternatives,  with the Wright StreetLite WF being the first one.

With the Cadets and Duel door B10's being the next lot to go in the next couple of months, the Merits and Scania L94's will probables start to go after.
