RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2016
(16 May 2016, 8:05 am)Designline wrote I think it's because it is a full height Volvo B7 and some of the branches of the tree are too thick and could lead to a fatal accident and if I am not mistaken the is a bridge that is just able to fit east lance lolyn under. but lately the 434 has been operated by the X-WRG variety or 5166 or wright solars, also I do agree with thetravelman that 434 should be operated by minibus as the passenger numbers are quite low
It isn't a issue to do with height.
The reason 3941 didn't last long was because of it's reliability which they then tried with 3888 which I believe hasn't been all that great either as everytime I've tried to photo the 434 it's been 6116/6117 (Which is the same height as the Gemini 1s). Additionally there isn't really anywhere on the 434 route that has issues with trees. Not so sure about the 448 which interworks with the service, and then again the service has always used double decker buses.
The route needs a reliable vehicle especially when at it's nearest point (Bedlington Station), the bus is 12 miles away from Percy Main Depot
