There is next stop announcements on the Angel Hybrids for the X21, I rode it the other week and it had announcements and slides for the X21 route between Durham and Bishop Auckland, it's the same style as the Angel's announcements except it's blue rather than green.

And says 'castles express'. Somebody thought they were on a blue streetdeck bus inside because of it.
I noticed Dan's signature on the bottom corner of the screen of the start up - "DG 28/4/16". Only just picked up upon it

Wonder if they have announcements for the N20 too, then?

I didn't think it went far enough to qualify for it, but that might be wrong. I'm certainly not paying the flat put fare to find out; though. Already paying quite enough on monthly passes!

Evening X21 announcements have been programmed since April, so these aren't new. Every bus wasn't updated back then, though.

But yes, night bus N20/N21 are now programmed which means all three night buses have announcements. Sure it'll benefit inebriated passengers through the night!

Also they can act as ready spares if one vehicle goes lame or runs very late.

Hexham 'regularly' send out their spare before the incoming vehicle arrives - it keeps the schedules on time.

By regularly I mean that I seem to see it happening most times that I am in Hexham.

TENs have a driver changeover at Hexham, so by having a 'rotating' spare vehicle they can cut out any delay that might have built up.

What possible benefit can a post like this be to this forum? The driver has possibly made an error, or possibly been on an authorised diversion.
Either way, I'm sure his manager will soon be aware, one way or another.

(25 Sep 2016, 12:50 pm)Morgandee16 Well it's not on the 6064 because I just not long being off at bishop and it did not announcement any of the stops

It is (and I know this one for sure, as I uploaded the new media to the vehicles myself at 3am last Friday!)

Chances are, the driver used the wrong destination code.

The evening/Sunday journeys operated by Angel Hybrids should use destination code X21E, though a number of drivers still continue to use normal X21 destinations.

An omnidekka hit 60/60mph on the 6 near harelaw today, and it felt safe in all respects. This proves that these vehicles are still full of life and really would benefit from an interior refresh. It would honestly feel as good as a brand new vehicle then. After seeing 6127 break down a few times, I was sceptical of how good these replacements were, how long until they might die etc, but my mind has once again been changed for the better.
