Maybe as just seen there is a variation to the X39/309/310 from the 3rd September too - but it looks like the extra 1 which runs off the X39 at around 5 will still be running

Did you manage to get the times up for the X39 after 03/09?

Checked for other potential routes and none appeared. The Coasters or 57s couldn't exactly be docked to have morning X39 journeys running from Gateshead so I take it that the afternoon journeys will most likely be cancelled at a rough guess.

Also, with an extra B9 likely to be available when the B5TLs enter service on the TTX (3x cascaded to TVT, 2x spare at Riverside for TTX / TVT and 1x spare at Hexham for TVT), could 6084 be transferred to allow the 309/310 to run standalone during the day in the run upto christmas to avoid any major delays causing a knock on effect?

No I have just seen the Vosa registration, but I would imagine they would terminate at Newcastle from the 3rd September?

And I would hope 6084 or another B9TL would transfer to Percy Main as there have been loads of B7s on the 309/310 at the minute.

Not sure on that:

Dan's post:

As part of a rationalisation of O-Licences across the Go-Ahead Group, Go North East will surrender its 'Go Northern' licence from 23rd July 2017, with all vehicles and services being registered under 'Go North East'.

There has been a recent change in stance by the traffic commissioner on bus operators which have multiple licences but are managed as one single entity. I would imagine both Arriva and Stagecoach North East will follow suit, at some point this year.

As such, you will see every 'Go Northern' service cancelled and re-registered under 'Go North East Ltd'. Possibly not worth copying and pasting all of them, as there'll be quite a few!  [Image: wink.gif]

I would think they were all done by 23rd July, not sure though, Maybe someone from Go North East could clear it up.

A690 road closures from 31st July for resurfacing.
It's on the council website. The road signs are up warning of its closure. Unfortunatelt, there's nothing that I can see on the GNE website about the 20 or the X5 being diverted.

Might be on the council website - but does not mean that they have informed key stakeholders, including bus operators.

(27 Jul 2017, 1:37 pm)Dan wrote Might be on the council website - but does not mean that they have informed key stakeholders, including bus operators.

I posted the following in December 15, regarding a road closure at Daisy Hill and DCC apparently being at fault.

...Operators have spoken about building a partnership scheme with local LA's, however partnership work and stakeholder involvement isn't just about waiting for one body to approach the other.
However, maybe it is worth operators being proactive and finding out in advance, without having to rely on local authorities?
It took me 20 seconds to find that closure as well as a few more minutes, finding works that will cause delay or diversion to a whole range of services across the county.
If I was working for a road haulage operator or passenger transport company, I could disseminate that in moments - enabling the planning of rotas, allocations etc for the next however many weeks.
Heck, I could even speak to contacts in the local authority, build relationships with contractors or utility firms and get things moving well in advance.
Without having to wait for a phone call and be completely ignorant of the works when mentioned.
I may even get drivers involved and enable a process that would involve the sharing and recording of information, so it can be reported back to a higher level - rather than just discussed amongst themselves in the canteen...

It appears the change from being reactive to road closures to proactive about them hasnt quite kicked in yet Angel

There have been similar examples in Washington recently with the closure of roads in Glebe.

Passengers affected by a bridge being demolished and buses being diverted/shuttle buses introduced have been the ones spending time and making the effort in seeking out info, that in my opinion should have been shared well before it was.

I knew about the roadworks...Arriva did...GNE claimed it was short notice. It was on the council website for 2 months beforehand.

Ditto with the closure of the A195 at Tyne Dock.

It was several hours after the two week closure started, that they let passengers on social media know about the diversion and delays.
It's a canny hike between the A194 and A195. Especially when passengers are heading to work.

Due to a short notice road closure by Sunderland City Council, there will be a diversion in place for Red Arrows X1 on 7 and 8 August.

Northbound buses will unable to run direct along the Washington Highway and will need to be diverted along Bonemill Lane, via Fatfield Bridge and Station Road to Shiney Row.

Due to the low bridge in the area, single deck buses will have to be used to keep delays down to a minimum and will not have the standard features of normal Red Arrows buses.

Wonder what will be allocated and where the red arrows will go for the time-being?

The signs have been up for a while, advising of road closures.
Like other works, the term 'short notice' is up for debate.

As it is during the week and PVR will be high, I would imagine vehicle swaps would take place.
Deckers for the 5/50 and Omnicities for the X1 would fill some of the PVR. That jumps straight out.
Where the rest of the single deckers come from, not too sure.
Not sure Washington could fill the PVR of the X1 with their own suitably sized vehicles. Solo's wouldn't really suffice.

The PVR will be lower during the wweek as only 13 vehicles required, as opposed to a Saturday when 14 plus vehicle for X88 is required

Aye. If it was a Sunday for example, it would have been a lot easier borrowing Mercs off the 4.
I say this, as I would hope dupes would be ran on the X1 to make up for the shortfall in seats.

Yes - the signs have been up for a while for an overnight road closure, where buses would not be affected and hence Go North East would not need to advertise disruption to the X1.

Sunderland City Council changed their plans at short notice (as suggested by Go North East) and informed operators yesterday that the closure would instead be held during the day. So yes, short notice, and credit where credit is due, the company has had three days to make plans to accommodate this road closure and a diversion which would affect passengers the least.

As suggested, there will be a direct swap of allocations between services 5/50 and X1 on Monday and Tuesday, and the shortfall will be made up of red Scania L94s being exchanged with Red Arrows branded Volvo B9TLs at Chester-le-Street. The Volvo B9TLs will be allocated to services 13/X25 at Chester-le-Street.

Pretty certain the overnight closures were on the roundabout at Shiney Row and were nothing to do with these closures on the A182.

If Go North East had more than four days notice that the road closure had changed from overnight (as agreed with stakeholders) to daytime, then perhaps they could have 'split' the X1 for the duration.

As there has only been four days notice, there is not enough time for Go North East to make a change like this.
