Must be a blind error, I've only ever seen one with 900A on (though only on the rear display)

According to the Nexus folks, to account for Benton Park Rd peak workings when the closure extends to Shiremoor there'll still be short Regent Centre to 4LE runs to keep the flow going.

Wistfully stuck in the 90s

According to the Nexus folks, to account for Benton Park Rd peak workings when the closure extends to Shiremoor there'll still be short Regent Centre to 4LE runs to keep the flow going.

Rear route number only displays on most fleet livery double-decks are set to switch 'F' which mimics the code which the driver types into his controller. This is why some of the buses operating shuttle services at the Airshow, Great North Run etc show 'AIR' or 'GNR'. If they were set to '2', it would show 900 or 901.

Metro Replacement bus services on the yellow line are usually numbered 900. Likewise the replacements on the green line are usually numbered 901. '900A' was added for a replacement bus service operating between Airport and Regent Centre which Nexus refused to number 901. The 'A' stood for airport.

Again, Regent Centre is technically on the green line, so the drivers are having to use the '900A' code as a workaround.

As destinations have been mentioned, is the new style destination layout seen on the X66 and X84/X85 just a trial run that would revert back to normal in the next destination update or is it a more permanent thing with the intention of all destinations being redesigned like that over time?

While I don't think this was a massive problem beforehand, I do like the greater emphasis on the main destination. Was strange seeing the X66 with that fancy 'X' though!

If you want standing space on a bus, get on an X1 from the wrekenton, not one of the past 4 has had room to spare.

Not true. I suspect that the rumour relates to 4957 - this is not being withdrawn, the chassis is being repaired at Saltmeadows Road.

4956 and 4958 are also VOR today - the former for PSV test, and the latter for defects.

It's just a trial run.

A number of comments have been raised internally about the large number of via points and how nobody would be able to read them all as they scroll (so is there really any point having them), and whether it would be better to have a greater emphasis on the terminal point by having it in a larger font, and the via points smaller, on separate screens, not scrolling.

Chances are it'll be rolled out to a couple of other services to gather more opinions. It's more or less what Arriva have, really, just with a larger terminal point (which they, and other operators as a matter of fact, use in other parts of the country).

I gather a number of enthusiasts on Facebook groups weren't best pleased with the new style - but I suppose we're trying to best cater for the majority of passengers!

I think the destinations would look better if the text on the first line was smaller as its looks a bit big. Other than that they look decent

The same could be said for the feature symbols. 3943 has recently gained the feature symbol to reflect that it has WiFi, although it has also had the NSA symbol added too. Perhaps it could be a sign that it will gain NSAs in the future although that is probably a bit too optimistic given that it is only a spare and 3962/5, which form part of the PVR for the 21, do not have them fitted either.

Perhaps more of an irrelevant detail, but I think it could probably be guessed that it has had a trip to Saltmeadows recently, as that seems to be the only way that the non-complete corporate liveried vehicles appear to receive the missing bits.

The company who apply the vinyls for Go North East are currently working their way through all of the early fleet livery buses which didn't have the yellow cant rail message and feature symbols added whilst at Saltmeadows Road.

I think 4932 was completed on Monday, along with a couple of other buses based at Riverside, whilst undertaking repairs on buses missing branding.

I was under the impression that the fleet livery was handled entirely by Go North East themselves? I wouldn't perhaps have expected them to send the fitters of the vinyls from Saltmeadows to each of the depots (which is why I suggested that 4932 could have possibly been there for whatever reason) though.

I am hoping 8328's cant rail is repainted black as per the other Versas in fleet livery.

Haven't had a look at 5446 yet, but 5442 has regained a 'Durham diamond' logo on the nearside, but has not regained the missing diamond vinyls at the rear.
