The B9’s have been on before but I’m not sure on how a B5 would do turning round Newbrough.
Anyway it’s rumoured that next year that them B5’s are going on there from the X9/X10

Deckers have better turning than Citaros, as long as they can fit under the bridges they'll be fine, not as long and not as wide. It's the A69 that would be the problem if they can't deal with the A19.

Some reason, i don't think they'll refurb anymore B9's, although i could be wrong!


With the 6 and 12/12A interworking from January 26th, its possible they might get new buses, but hoping Blaydon Racers brand is dropped so its just GNE.


I do hope we see new buses on the Quaylink, although, 23 is a high number for just 1 brand, maybe in the next few years, phasing them in so Q1/Q2 first, then the Q3?



I was hoping we would see new buses on the 56, but its not happening, as its confirmed for repaint and a new brand "Newcastle Sunderland Citylink", probables looking at the start of January for those repaints to begin.

Do hope its black and red...

You'd be surprised how many people from South Shields continue on up Durham Road, especially at peak times. Also not sure they'd replace 16 plate Streetlites with 11 plate deckers with cloth seats and unhealthy engines.

You'd be surprised how many people from South Shields continue on up Durham Road, especially at peak times. Also not sure they'd replace 16 plate Streetlites with 11 plate deckers with cloth seats and unhealthy engines.

The 14 Volvo B9s on the X1 are also receiving Euro 6 SCRTs, so will definitely be found on services in and around Gateshead and Newcastle (sorry cbma06!)

Think the current toon link B9s at Consett have been upgraded to Euro 6 (correct me if I’m wrong), these were originally destined for the 93/94. Don’t think the remaining scanias will be held until mays X1 upgrade.

Well they can be placed on any service going into newcastle, so possibly some chester services, upgrading crusader, cascading to the 1 allowing hybrids to go on 50 etc

Well they can be placed on any service going into newcastle, so possibly some chester services, upgrading crusader, cascading to the 1 allowing hybrids to go on 50 etc
