Ok so am assuming I can't start from Hartlepool so that rules 24 out. So X6 from Dalton Park to Seaham. Then 60 to Sunderland. Fab 56 to to Gateshead then X66 to Metro centre. Does that work.
Name a village/town or city in Tyne & Wear where to travel to the Metrocentre, it will take more than one change.
It can be any combination of operators. Doesn't have to be limited to just one.
(20 Apr 2020, 3:42 pm)Andreos1 wrote Durham isn't in T&W. It's in Co Durham. It Has the river wear running though it though so therefore must count as Tyne and Wear.
The rules
Wrekenton - Metrocentre (56 and X66) so wouldn't count.
Fatfield Riverside - Metrocentre (4, 27, X66), so would count.
(Obviously the X88 is an option on a weekend from the galleries).

X12 Middlesbrough to Newcastle
10 Newcastle to Hexham.
Return
685 Hexham to Newcastle
X9/10 Newcastle to Middlesbrough
36 Middlesbrough to Hartlepool

Do Sunderland and Chester le street count then
21 Angel of North to Gateshead.
Q1 Gateshead to Central Station
10 Central station to Metro centre
Fancy having a go of my challenge

The point is of the game is where you don't have an option other than to make more than one change.
(20 Apr 2020, 6:15 pm)ifm001 wrote Hill Park Estate to Metrocentre
10 Hill Park to Jarrow
26/27 Jarrow to Gateshead
X66 Gateshead to Metrocente.
More than one change..... The title of the challenge.
(20 Apr 2020, 6:28 pm)Andreos1 wrote Well done! I'd have suggested a walk to get the 26 or 27 to Gateshead, but I think you have found another example. If you live at the back end of Hill Park you won't want the walk to Jarrow.... And if walking on the return let's hope your not too laidened with all the heavy bags of shopping. That's a steep hill Cemetry Bank.
Well done!

I reckon apart from Blackfell, there will be a few other places in Washington that jump out (excluding the industrial estates). Ayton for example.
A number of places not on the Durham Road, Stockton Road or Hylton Road corridors should have to incur a couple of changes I reckon.
Anywhere on those roads, all have a direct link to Gateshead or Durham.
(14 Aug 2020, 4:38 pm)col87 wrote Ok here's a challenge. Hartlepool to Newcastle Eldon Square then Hexham. Then return to Newcastle Eldon Square and back to Hartlepool without using anymore than 9 buses and no service or destination other than Eldon Square can be used twice. X9/X10 can also not be used. Let's see how many of you can do it.Outbound

Coxhoe - Newcastle (X12)
Newcastle - Hexham (X84)
Hexham - Newcastle (10)
Newcastle - Durham (X21)
Durham - Hartlepool (24)
or
Hartlepool - Sunderland (23)
Sunderland - Newcastle (56)
Newcastle - Hexham (685)
Hexham - Newcastle (74)
Newcastle - Middlesbrough (X12)
Middlesbrough - Hartlepool (1)
or
Hartlepool - Heworth (Train)
Heworth - Newcastle Monument (Metro Green Line - exit into Eldon Square)
Newcastle - Hexham (10)
Hexham - Newcastle (685)
Newcastle Monument - Central (Metro Yellow Line - enter via Eldon Square)
Central - York (Train)
York - Hartlepool (Train)
You didn't say no trains for the last or Eldon Square bus station
There's loads of combinations haha.

(15 Aug 2020, 10:10 pm)Storx wrote Here's a challenge back for you, same rules apply but it's now 8 buses or less Hartlepool -> Eldon Square -> Hexham and the reverse. This time an added rule is you can't use any bus service which serves Gateshead Interchange, that's regardless to whether you travel through it or not. Oh and buses only, no coaches or trains. Split routes are 1 for this, so the X12 is Middlesbrough to Newcastle not Middlesbrough -> Durham -> Newcastle.Either through Durham and consett when the 689(?) is running a full Saturday timetable or head via Sunderland, get the x24 which goes nowhere near Gateshead interchange, then Newcastle to Hexham to do it in 6 buses there and back.
It is doable
